Footage of late-game mission in the upcoming open-world RPG
We're only six weeks away from the release of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, but gamers have already seen some lengthy footage of what to expect from the latest open-world action RPG from Ubisoft.
The latest game in the Assassin's Creed franchise will see players roaming around Ancient Greece as one of two protagonists, Alexios and Kassandra, fighting as mercenaries in the secret fictional history of the Peloponnesian War between the Delian League (Athens) and the Peloponnesian League (Sparta). Gamers will get to choose missions and support either sides in the war, with mission outcomes reflecting how the game progresses.
Odyssey, which launches on PC and console on October 5th, will feature a skill tree system similar to the one used in its predecessor Assassin's Creed Origins, focusing on three core strengths - Warrior, Hunter and Assassin.
Ahead of launch, gamers and critics got their hands on the game during Gamescom 2018 in Germany to experience it first-hand - one of which was VG 24/7 who played through over 30 minutes of one of the late-game missions, which can be seen below. Quick warning, it does contain mission gameplay and a boss fight, so there may be spoilers lurking.
