Bing Continues His Adventures In This New Update!
Bing in Wonderland
Bing in Wonderland has received a system-wide overhaul recently, dubbed the “Power-Up Edition”, which changes and updates basically every system within the game, all of which I will outline here.
Progression Changes Galore!
The main gameplay progression has been altered and restructured; now, each level is set into 13 stages, 12 of which will have you facing off against hordes of enemies and, occasionally, minibosses while gathering items and Boons to prepare you for the boss, waiting for you at stage 13. During these stages, you’ll gather Gold, Yellow Beans, and Naan. Gold can be spent in stages to obtain upgrades and items, while Yellow Beans and Naan can be spent in-between runs on permanent upgrades, such as character and weapon upgrades, along with permanent stat boosts. The player also has the option to “beg” for items instead of spending Gold; however, begging increases a gauge, which, when it reaches 100, has multiple potential effects. Many of the weapons also got revamped here, primarily the Bow, Spear, and Cannon, which have all been altered to be easier to use. The Axe and Lyre have also been heavily improved through the charge attacks.
Power-Up!
The Boons also got a very large series of reworks; most notably, the hero Radish. Radish’s Boons allow the player to spawn Radish Bombs, which track enemies and deals some slight AOE damage. In the Power-Up Edition, Radish Bombs can be generated much quicker, and the more of Radish’s Boons you get, the more Radish Bombs you spawn each time. The “Footed” Boons have also been revamped; instead of a minor slowdown, they are now stunned for a couple of seconds. Many other hero’s Boons have also been updated, to a lesser degree, such as Monkie having a higher chance to create lighting strikes depending on the amount of Boons you have. There has also been an addition to the “Personas” system, allowing for multiple characters to be equipped at one time, giving the player access to all of their passive skills at any one time, with more slots being unlocked as you progress through the game. There’s a very nice level of depth and complexity to these systems, without wildly overcomplicated and bloated mechanics, which is a trap many other roguelikes fall into.
Bing in Wonderland
Bing in Wonderland’s Power-Up Edition has made some very deep changes to the game, which are all incredibly positive and make for a fun and incredibly entertaining experience!
