Don't worry — I was confused at first, too!
If you found yourself wandering around and ending up in The Elder Scrolls Online's Steam page, you might've noticed that there are several editions split by "Collection" and "Upgrade". This isn't as complicated as it sounds at all, and once we've finished explaining it to you, you'll know all about which ones fits you best.
So, we all know ESO is just the MMORPG version of our beloved The Elder Scrolls franchise, and this means that expansions come out occasionally... and the game is huge. At the time of writing, there are about to be a whopping eight chapters for players to explore! While this is great for fans, it was becoming a bit overwhelming for newcomers, so Bethesda has made two different editions you can get: one for veterans and one for those who are just arriving to their games! So, which one is which?
The Upgrade edition just gives players the latest Chapter, which works well for those who are already familiar with the game or even have all the others already! This just means you get to buy it and hop on to the game to enjoy the latest expansion to Tamriel (if it has already been released, of course!). It's a great opportunity for veterans of the game, and it's just a great way to upgrade your edition to the latest one! If you've already played all of the other expansions and are up-to-date in the story, you can just pick this one up!

Meanwhile, the Collection edition offers not only the latest Chapter but also immediate access to all the previous ones! This is great for those who want to experience the story in a chronological sense (or not! You can play it however you want). This also applies to the heftier editions (say, Deluxe, as an example), which means that if you buy the latest Chapter's Deluxe, you'll receive the rewards for all the previous ones, too! It's a bargain!
At the moment, The Elder Scrolls Online has a lot of chapters for you to check out — here's the full list of them!
- Necrom
- High Isle
- Blackwood
- Greymoor
- Elsweyr
- Summerset
- Morrowind
By buying the collection, you get all of these chapters (with their countless of hours of playtime). The Deluxe Edition features all of their exclusive items, too, making it a complete pack for any late-joiners who wish to collect a slew of awesome rewards! We told you — it's a bargain!
