Seize the day and find out everything you need to know to prepare for the zombie hordes
Days Gone
Zombies come in many shapes and sizes, and they’re never more numerous or terrifying than in Days Gone. Developed by Bend Studio and released on the PlayStation 4 in 2019, Days Gone is now making the leap to PC, bringing its mixture of open world exploration, stealth, and action to a computer near you.
To make sure you’re ready to take on the hordes of zombies, or Freakers as this game likes to call them, here’s everything you need to know about Days Gone on PC.
What is Days Gone?
Days Gone combines action, survival horror, and an open world in a beautiful and dangerous post-apocalyptic open world. You play as Deacon St. John, voiced by Battlestar Galactica actor Sam Witwer, as you search the ruins of America for word of your wife who you haven’t seen since the fall of civilization.
The end of the world came via a virus which turned millions into corpses, and millions others into ‘Freakers’, zombie-like creatures that seem to be evolving. You’ll face hordes of Freakers and other humans as your main threats as you explore the world, fighting and hiding as you try to survive in a twisted world.
The world itself is a danger, too, with the Freakers becoming more active and alert at night, so be careful when out and about - you don’t know what’ll be waiting for you. Days Gone gives you options when playing, you’ll be able to customise your approach to dangerous situations, relying on stealth or violence depending on what suits your playstyle or the objectives you’re trying to achieve.
You can also customize your loadout with a variety of crafted weapons, as well as your motorbike which you can upgrade to be your perfect ride.
The open-world of Days Gone
Speaking of the perfect ride, in the game you'll traverse a large map full of Horde points, Ambush Camps, and more, on your trusty motorcycle. Is there any other cooler way to travel? I think not!
The drifter bike will allow you to escape situations quickly when you come up against a horde, but also acts as a save point. Oh, and you can mow down Freakers with the bike. So it’s not just all style!
The world itself is a danger, too, with the Freakers becoming more active and alert at night, so be careful when out and about - you don’t know what’ll be waiting for you.
But aside from that, the environment is dynamic with the world affected by the weather and a day/night cycle which will make a mess in your underwear every time there’s a sunset.
PC enhancements for Days Gone
Days Gone on PC features improved graphics, including increased level of details, foliage draw distances, and field of view, meaning that even if you've played the game through on PlayStation 4 before, this is the definitive version of the game. Plus, with ultra wide monitor support and unlocked framerates, you’ll be able to see more of the action and gore.
The game doesn’t just stop with better graphics though, the PS4 exclusive will have bonus content for PC. You’ll be able to play the game again in a New Game Plus mode, or test your skills in Survival or Challenge Modes.
That’s not all though as PC players will get bonus bike skins for the Drifter Bike. I can just imagine myself riding through the post-apocalyptic world on a bright pink bike now...
The enemies of Days Gone
The great thing about the game gives you options when playing, you’ll be able to customise your approach to dangerous situations, relying on stealth or violence depending on what suits your playstyle or the objectives you’re trying to achieve. Deacon can sabotage and ride others’ bikes to prevent them from escaping or to make a quick escape yourself.
You can also customise your loadout with a variety of crafted weapons, as well as your motorcycle which you can upgrade to be your perfect ride. It doesn't stop there though with the Freakers also able to adapt as their change depending on their surroundings.

Finally, the most recent trailer shows off some of the features present in Days Gone, just in time for the PC launch!
