Take on the gods with the right weapon of choice

God of War PC - Weapons and equipment you need to use

Be warned, spoilers follow for God Of War (2018)!

With the upcoming PC release of God Of War, we here at Fanatical thought it might be a good idea to run you through the best weapons and equipment in the game, so you can be prepared to absolutely turn those gods into mincemeat and protect Atreus along the way.

Leviathan Axe

Leviathan Axe

Might be a slight cop-out to say it, but the Leviathan Axe you have from the start of the game is truly one of the best weapons in the game. You can upgrade it with various parts and boons, but the real strength of this weapon comes in its versatility and feel.

Nothing feels quite as good as throwing the axe at a distant enemy, freezing them and then summoning it back to you, cutting enemies in two along the way. Sure, it’s not quite as powerful or as out there as some of the other weapons on this list, but with the right person and practice comes one of the greatest weapons in video game history.

Blades of Chaos

Blades of Chaos

You don’t get the Blades of Chaos until around halfway through the game, after something key happens in the story. Once you get them, you’re never going to want to use anything but them.

The Blades offer a HUGE power boost and much speedier combos than the Leviathan Axe. You can switch between the two on the fly as well, allowing for some utterly insane combos and some massive amounts of damage.

You’ll be cutting through standard enemies like they’re butter, and even bosses will quiver under your rage.

Shattered Gauntlet of Ages

Shattered Gauntlet of Ages

If this name sounds at all familiar, you’re probably thinking exactly what I’m thinking. This is just the Infinity Gauntlet from Marvel Comics and Avengers: Infinity War, down to the fact it takes six different gemstones to get it to peak power.

In order to get it to full power you need to collect Andvari’s Soul, Asgard’s Shard of Existence, Eye of the Outer Realm, Ivaldi’s Corrupted Mind, Musphelheim’s Eye of Power and Njord’s Temporal Stone. While the Gauntlet can only hold up to three of these, any combination of them offers a huge boost and a special shockwave that absolutely dusts enemies nearby.

The Mist Armor

The Mist Armor

This is it, the best armor in the game. The Mist Armor requires, rather fittingly, Mist echoes to craft and heals you as you’re fighting, making you able to tank so much more than you usually can.

Combine this armor with the weapons above and you’ll find that you’re a god yourself, the strongest possible god around and the one to be feared above all else.
