The red devil of Dark Horse Comics joins the fight
It's time to bring out the devilish fighter in you as Hellboy has been announced as one of the latest characters in Injustice 2.
The well-known superhero from Dark Horse Comics, created by Mike Mignola, will be smashing his way into the arcade-style fighting game from November 14th for gamers who have purchased the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition or Fighter Pack#2 - and will be available to purchase separately from November 21st.
Hellboy in action
From the announcement trailer, we can see that Hellboy has a range of close combat and ranged attacks. His 'Right Hand of Doom' can be used for clobbering foes and blocking their attacks, while The Good Samaritan - Hellboy's large caliber four-round revolver - can keep enemies at bay.
Things heat up when Hellboy unleashes his Super Move. The opponent is pushed through a hole in the ground and falls into what appears to be a lava-filled hell arena - there's no place like home!
After receiving a few heavy punches to the face on the way down from the fall, Hellboy launches a finishing jump attack with an axe before both characters return to the original arena.
Hellboy's sarcastic humor can also be heard in the trailer during combat, which is essential for capturing the character's personality known by fans of the comics and film franchises.
Developed by the award-winning NetherRealm Studios, Injustice 2 features a massive roster of DC superheroes and super-villains, allowing players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favorite DC characters. Additional characters who have already been introduced to the roster in the console versions of the game include Red Hood, Starfire and Black Manta, as well as Sub-Zero and Raiden from Mortal Kombat.
The PC version of Injustice 2 was announced by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment in October, which is expected to arrive shortly after the delayed open beta.
