That might not be a big surprise to you.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
Until the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, the Activision-published Spider-Man: Web of Shadows was the best game featuring the wall-crawler. It had a big open city, a decent swinging mechanic, and plenty of references to other Marvel characters with cameos. It’s weird to still be recommending a game from 2008 over, say, the two that were based on The Amazing Spider-Man movies, but that was the sorry state of Spidey on PC.
That brings us to the PC release of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. It has a great swinging mechanic, seamless combat, references to the larger Marvel Universe, parts were written by veteran Spider-Man comic writers Christos Gage and Dan Slott… Some previous Spider-Man games have had some of those elements, but never all of them all at the same time! What’s more, this PC version improves on the console version with Ray-Tracing and improved graphics with ultrawide monitor support!
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered has all of your favourite Spider-related characters including Miles Morales, and given how Sony is releasing more and more games on PC, you’ll need to check this out before Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales comes out on PC later in 2022.
I’m a big Marvel fan, so I’ve played every game starring the X-Men, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and of course Peter Parker: Spider-Man. That’s why you can believe me when I say that this is a fantastic superhero game, and a spectacular Spider-Man one.
While it may not seem like much of a shock that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is the best, you have to remember that the PC has had 10 other Spider-Man games since 1995. Some of them were pretty good, while others were amongst the worst licensed games ever — I’m looking at you, Spider-Man 2. On consoles it was great, but they really messed up the PC version…
