MediEvil meets Fable in new platformer Pumpkin Jack trailer
Headup Games unveil new footage of its upcoming Indie game
There are spooky goings on in the latest upcoming title from Headup Games as the award-winning publisher has unveiled a new trailer for its comical 3D platformer Pumpkin Jack.
It's an epic battle of evil against good as you jump, dodge, and carve your way through challenging enemies and daunting puzzles, all within gorgeously rendered and gruesomely colourful landscapes thanks to Unreal Engine 4. The dreadful Curse of the Eternal Night has been unleashed upon the peaceful Boredom Kingdom by the Devil himself - and in an attempt to thwart his evil plans, the citizens have called upon a wizard to raise an army of beasts.
Your job... to make sure the Devil's dastardly deeds go to plan. As Pumpkin Lord Jack, you'll need to tear your way through fright-filled levels as you punish those who dared defy your master. Learn the art of combo attacks and survival in dynamic real-time battles, as well as unlocking new weapons.
Solve puzzles that focus on physics, gravity, and reflection as Jack, or ditch the skinsuit and just use your flaming head to burn books, hammer some moles, create paths for magic spheres, and more as each level introduces new and exciting challenges. You're not alone in your quest to do evil things as helpful companions will assist Jack in his journey, including a haughty hooty owl to guide him along - and a snarky crow itching to assist with long-range attacks.
The game, which is being developed by French developer Nicolas Meyssonnier, is due to be released on Steam PC and console in Q4 2020. This upcoming platformer has been described as a must-play for 'Fans of games like MediEvil and Jak and Daxter' but we're also getting Fable and GreedFall vibes from it, so be sure to check it out later this year!
