Serving customers and slaying monsters
A rogue-lite adventure awaits players in the action RPG Moonlighter, which follows the story of a humble shopkeeper on a quest to become a hero.
Developed by Digital Sun and published by 11 Bit Studios (Frostpunk), Moonlighter sees players set up shop in Rynoka village, where they will need to put items on sale, set their price carefully, manage gold reserves, recruit assistants and upgrade their shop. But beyond the four walls of his shop, our budding hero Will ventures deep into dungeon-esque caves from different dimensions to take on monstrous beasts.
So, what's it all about?
The game's backstory tells us that during a long-passed archaeological excavation, a set of Gates were discovered. People quickly realized that these ancient passages lead to different realms and dimensions – providing brave and reckless adventurers with treasures beyond measure.
Rynoka, a small commercial village, was founded near the excavation site providing refuge and a place for adventurers to sell their hard-earned riches.
Travelling into the various dangerous realms, Will must defeat enemies and take down bosses. Learn to be masterful with your weapons - it's all about critical timing, careful positioning, and an understanding of your enemies and environment - these are crucial to your survival.
Obtaining valuable and exotic items from your travels will help make Will a tidy profit back at his family-run shop. Scout for resources, weapons, armors and peculiar artifacts, but be choose your loot wisely as you'll not be able to bring everything back.
Each run is unique and forces you to make smart and calculated decisions.
Moonlighter features a unique crafting and enchanting system that is essential for your progression. Helping your fellow neighbors establish new businesses and seeing Rynoka grow will help you craft new armor and weapons, and enchant existing equipment.
