All you need to know about what's included in the Explorer Edition
Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Plus Edition
RPGs are a tried and true genre, but Pathfinder is something special indeed. Inspired by the legendary Baldur’s Gate and the tabletop Pathfinder Adventure Path campaign, this title from Owlcat Games features a massive campaign that runs north of 100 hours.
Based on the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game from 2009 published by Paizo Publishing, Pathfinder offered players a rich alternative to Dungeons & Dragons. One of the best-selling role-playing game systems in recent years, the rich Pathfinder universe was aching for a game. Pathfinder: Kingmaker Explorer Edition delivers.
Leaning hard on an advanced character alignment system (are you going to be a prince or a prat?) with elements of a management sim, Pathfinder full of rich quests for those willing to take the dive.
YOU’VE GOT TO LEARN HOW TO LIVE IN YOUR FANTASY
Pathfinder: Kingmaker Explorer Edition includes the base game. Players venture through the Stolen Lands to craft their own kingdom in the dangerous environs. As their tracts of land increase, the plot and locations thicken to a fierce brew indeed.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker takes gamers on a long haul that’s enlightened by its sim elements. Hardcore Casual’s Syncaine notes “managing the kingdom becomes the driving force for the story”. There’s not many other RPGs you can say that about, that’s for sure!
SWORD & SORCERY
Companion characters are fun in any RPG, but in Pathfinder: Kingmaker they are especially quirky. There are 11 companions to find in this rich quest. Your choices in the games influence what companions you get, so make your moves carefully.
If you’re a halfling enthusiast, Linzi the Chaotic Good Bard might tickle your fancy. Those of the orcish persuasion will go wild for the half-orc Regongar the Chaotic Evil Magus. Owlcat Games clearly went outside of the bog standard fantasy tropes for this one!
A CLASS ACT
The wide variety of classes Pathfinder: Kingmaker features give other RPGs a run for their money. Sure, there are the stock classes like Barbarian, Cleric, and Wizard, but you can really mix things up if you want to.
Be bold and play the game as a Slayer (a sort of Ranger / Rogue combo), Alchemist (bombs and poisons are their specialty), or an Inquisitor (kind of an evil Paladin).
If you ramp up your character in the right way, you can upgraded to one of the seven powerful Prestige Classes. Wield powers most draconic as a Dragon Disciple or become a burgle king as an Arcane Trickster. The sky is the limit!
KNIGHTS AND BARONS LIVE FOR PLEASURE AND THEMSELVES
Pathfinder: Kingmaker Explorer Edition is a challenging romp through the acclaimed Pathfinder setting. Player choice and sim elements give the game tons of replayability.
