Bye bye text, hello images!
Steam has unveiled a massive new Library update that will leave you wondering where it’s been all your life.
The long overdue update, which drops on September 17th as reported by Ars Technica, modernises the library with a focus on being more helpful and customized than before, and we thought we’d run down the top reasons why we cannot wait for it to be released.
What we're excited to see in the update
IT'S USER FRIENDLY!
The update will give you a variety of recommendations in one place, presented in a much friendlier way. This includes news updates on games in your library, recent games you and your friends have played, and also the new dynamic collections (more on that later).
It turns the current Steam Library from a hard to read dump of data into a nicely presented and very useful board that will inspire you when you’re stuck on what to play.
IT SAVES TIME
Gone are the days when you have to reorganize all of your collections when you buy a new game. Steam’s dynamic collections will add in new games for you based on the parameters you set... Genius!
You can also create a static collection to work in the same way so you don’t have to manually add each game to the list.
MORE CUSTOMIZATION
As well as the amazing dynamic collections, you’ll have more options to sort them by. Want to see the Metacritic score? You can sort it by that. Need to free up some space? Sort it by the size of the games and delete those you don’t play anymore.
Not only that, you can personalize the Library page with new ‘shelves’ including any of your collections and more. Plus, you can order them any way so you’re not scrolling down to see what you want. This is Steam, but more for you.
