The Dragons are back to bring the heat together!

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the eighth mainline entry in the Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) franchise, looking to bring the heat overseas and featuring both Ichiban Kasuga and Kiryu Kazama as playable protagonists. So… what is it about?
If you want to go in blind as much as possible, then you might want to avoid reading this article

Taking place several years after Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Ichiban Kasuga is on a more personal quest to find his birth mother, Akane, in Honolulu, Hawaii. However, almost as soon as he gets there, he’s stripped and robbed of everything (including the clothes on his back), sending him back to rock bottom once again. However, upon meeting up with Kiryu Kazuma, who’s also looking for Akane, he must claw his way back to the top once again, meeting old friends and new while dealing with criminal organisations who are also out for his mother. Though, that’s not to mention the further complications back home in Japan, where a VTuber has not only slandered Ichiban’s good name as the Hero of Yokohama, but has also revealed the Dragon of Dojima’s survival to the world after faking his death in Yakuza 6: Song of Life.
Oh, and Kiryu has cancer. That usually puts damper on a Hawaiian vacation.
And this is all just from pre-release material. I can only assume things get worse from there…

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – Deluxe Edition

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth uses the turn-based RPG combat system introduced in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, which has been improved for this entry, such as stacking buffs, control over your character’s position and being able to see the direction your attacks go. You can also change your job by going on island tours in Hawaii, with new jobs such as Desperado, Action Star, and Geodancer. Kiryu’s exclusive job, Dragon of Dojima, is special. Not only can he switch fighting stances, like in Yakuza 0, but he can also break the turn system altogether and beat people on his own terms with Dragon’s Resurgence. Kiryu might be old and dying, but he is still the guy who takes on entire yakuza families on a regular basis.
Otherwise, it’s still the classic Like a Dragon formula with various fun substories and minigames to experience. Why not take a load off on the trolley system and take photos of weirdos in Sicko Snap? Or participate in 3v3 Sujimon Battles and make those freaks fight each other? Or how about delivering some food Crazy Taxi-style in Crazy Delivery? And hey, you can always take a break from all the fighting and criminal conspiracies on Dondoko Island, which is essentially Animal Crossing: New Horizons but as a business venture.
Did I mention Like A Dragon is a serious crime drama full of death and tragedy?
