Top Tips to Stay Alive in Sniper Elite 5

Starting with a fairly obvious one, but always have a close-quarters weapon on hand that has a silencer attached. This can be done by customising your weapon of choice in the loadout menu, and it will make those indoor sections with enemies just out of reach of a melee stealth kill much easier to pick off!

Choosing the right skills early on will pay dividends in later missions. You can’t really go wrong with any of the skills found in Sniper Elite 5, but I would recommend both Health Boost skills and Back in the Fight (allowing you to revive yourself using a medkit).

However, if you’re rather proficient at keeping hidden and picking enemies off from afar, I’d suggest Steady Hand and Deep Breath for maximum sniping time.

Sniper Elite 5 offers more verticality than previous titles, so keep an eye out for buildings covered in vines to clamber or a drain pipe to shimmy up. Not only will this give you a wider view of the area, but it can also allow you to bypass an entire building full of soldiers in order to reach your objective.

Decoys are fantastic items to bring along on practically every mission. Set one of these up and you’ll have many hapless soldiers firing at them to no avail, allowing you to sneak up behind and take them out! What makes these tools even better is the fact that they can emit sound, attracting Nazis like flies into your web.

Have you finished scouting an area and are pondering which bad guy to headshot first? Wait! Check again; see any alarms in the vicinity? They should always be your first target. If one of these is triggered, you can expect a small army's worth of grunts to arrive in no time at all. Just make sure you mask the sound of your sniper fire before you take the shot!
