Upcoming Action PC Games for 2021

It’s time to get your fists ready, and your arsenal in hand with great action titles launching in 2021.

In this blog post, we’ll be exploring some of the adrenaline-fuelled action games that you can add to your wishlist.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection - January 28, 2021

Fresh off from the successful remakes of the first two Yakuza titles launching on PC, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2, the next three Yazkua games are being remastered in one action-packed collection.

If you aren’t familiar with Yakuza, then it’s an over-the-top brawler-style game set in Japan. Filled with dramatic action, the series is anything but ordinary - with you able to catch UFOs in just one of the series’ whacky mini-games.

The Remastered Collection will be Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 with higher definition graphics and frame rates than before.

First released in 2009, Yakuza 3 is the oldest of the three games and continues the adventures of Kazuma Kiryu, who featured in the first two games. All the titles are a continuous story, but if you’ve never played the first two then don’t worry as the games give plenty of backstory in the form of cutscenes.

Gods Will Fall - January 29, 2021

In Gods Will Fall, you will be venturing into elaborate lairs of ancient Gods. Defeating their minions will weaken the deities, but you have to battle through them in order to reach and defeat the divine being at the end and unravel the dark secret.

In total, the game has eight warriors from a Celtic clan. Each of these is equipped with an exclusive weapon type and brings unique skills to the table. Choosing the right challenger for your game style is important as each level presents new challenges and will be deadlier than the last.

With a permadeath system in the game, you will have to rotate your heroes to defeat the God, and release the trapped characters from the domain.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends - May 10, 2021

Watching the Hood: Outlaws and Legends trailer and it makes you wonder why Robin Hood-inspired games have been few and far between to date.

The brutal, dark game takes place in a violent, medieval world and puts two teams of players to the test. In the game, you will be competing in PvPvE multiplayer heists as you aim to steal from the rich (sounds familiar).

In your team, each player will have unique skills and mystical abilities which will help shape the way you conduct your heist. For example, you could go in stealth mode to avoid unwanted confrontation, or throw the doors open and defeat everything in sight to claim the loot.

Deathloop - May 21, 2021

Produced by the studio behind the awesome Dishonored series, DEATHLOOP takes inspiration from the studios with slick, fast-paced gameplay.

In the game, you will be hunting down eight targets before the day resets. You will use your wits, skills, and the timeloop to your advantage as every time you die or run out of time you will be starting the day again. It’s not just fast-paced parkour where you go into every fight guns-blazing, you will also have to mix up your style with stealth elements to get through the levels.

You’ll have to stay on your toes too, as whilst you hunt, you’ll also be hunted. As you play as Colt and try to stop the loop on the Island, you will be hunted down by a rival assassin, Julianna, who can be controlled by the AI or by another player in a multiplayer mode.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum - 2021

Not much is known about Daedelic Entertainment’s The Lord of the Rings: Gollum title. We only got a brief look at what the game may be in a teaser trailer, but it has been confirmed as an action-adventure game that is being released on PC and “all relevant consoles”.

This will be a post-The Lord of the Rings adaptation of Gollum, with the Stoor being in possession of the One Ring.

In terms of gameplay, it will be focused on stealth with the hero not having too many abilities, but instead, it will be focusing on platforming gameplay and character progression through skill trees.

The CEO of Daedalic Entertainment, Carsten Fichtelmann told The Hollywood Reporter, that the game will that there will be “Smeagol decisions or the Gollum decision” with an inner-conflict with Gollum’s alter-ego in the game.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - 2021

From the developers of the award-winning Vermintide franchise, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is another 4-player co-op game set in the dark Warhammer 40,000 universe.

In the game, you will squad up with three friends in the hive city of Tertium to stop the Admonition from seizing control of the world.

The brutal game builds upon the melee combat from Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and adds in gunplay. Battling the hordes will be fast-paced, deadly, and requiring the ultimate teamwork to succeed. Plus, you will have to balance out the classes and weapons to succeed. All the weapons in the game are in the Warhammer 40,000 style, from the deadly chainsword to the lasgun, and will offer a different threat as you push forwards into the hive city.

The classes are all customizable, so you can work with your own playstyle and benefit your team by customizing your skillset and load-out, plus upgrading your gear to focus on being the best agent possible.

In the game, you will also be able to customize your looks, so you will never confuse your two friends again… as that’s just awkward.
