What is Scorn?

You awake in a hellish landscape inhabited with biomechanical creatures, part flesh and part machine. What once seemed to be an advanced industrial civilisation now lies in ruin. Players will at first feel lost and isolated as they explore the desolate and decaying regions where there is no dialogue but excellent sound design to immerse you into this freaky world. Each area has a maze and various rooms and paths that are interconnected in a non-linear fashion, where you will meet characters and solve puzzles that will help you comprehend everything that is happening around you in this open world. There are no cutscenes to tell this story of this place; the storytelling is all in real-time as you play. So be sure to pay attention to your surroundings — if you miss something important on your travels, Scorn won't show any sympathy.

The interactions with this world are very realistic: when you pick up an object, it is with your hands and won't be floating in mid-air as you have seen in other games. Instruments and machines are operated by grabbing onto the controls. You will have to keep in mind how your actions will affect the world around you. Even though there are guns in Scorn, this is not a shooter game. Instead a limited loadout is selected for you; players will have to decide when you should take cover and when you should attack, your choice could prove to be deadly.
