What to expect from Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed
Bow down to your Furon overlords!
Greetings fellow Earth dwellers! Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed is scheduled for release on 30th August 2022 and it’s looking to be a faithful remake of the original title. But what has been announced so far surrounding the game and its various improvements? Well I’m here to let you know what to expect from Crypto’s adventures in the 1960s!
Much like 2020’s Destroy All Humans!; Reprobed isn’t a brand new title in the series, but rather Destroy All Humans! 2 (originally released back in 2006) completely rebuilt from scratch using the Unreal Engine 4. So the first thing to expect is vastly improved graphics on everything from environments to particle effects!
It isn’t just the graphics that have been given the modern treatment; many other aspects of the original game have been improved, such as weapons (with new upgrades and improved handling on each), the way Crypto controls — even the Geneblender system has been reworked. A personal favourite feature that I’m looking forward to is improved building destruction. Nothing is more enjoyable than hopping into your spaceship and levelling some man-made structures, and Reprobed plans to make this even more satisfying thanks to improved physics.
But what if you’ve never played a Destroy All Humans! game? Well, first I’d wholeheartedly recommend playing Crypto’s first outing, but if we’re specifically talking about Destroy All Humans! 2 then you can expect to play as a small (yet constantly furious!) alien hellbent on conquering Earth. You’ll tackle missions across five mini open-world maps using a wide range of wacky weapons. This is far from a serious take on the alien invaders type of game, with jokes, bad puns, crude humour, and more constantly being fired at you. It’s great, silly fun that can also be played splitscreen with another player!
As a special bonus, anyone that pre-orders the game will receive the standalone DLC Destroy All Humans! - Clone Carnage for free! This bite-sized, four-player co-operative experience will give you a taste of what the franchise is all about and is an absolute blast to play with a few friends!
To sum up, what can we expect to see in Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed? Destruction, dark humour, deadly weapons, and dire consequences for anyone that DARES to get in the way of the mighty Furon Empire!
