Why Bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered to the PC is a Good Idea

Spidey is not a fan of console exclusivity!
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
Way back in 2018, a little game about everyone’s favourite wall-crawler was released to the delight of superhero fans everywhere. Apart from, of course, those that didn’t own a PlayStation 4. Thankfully, we’ll soon have a PC version once Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is released, which not only includes the full game, but also all the story add-ons and additional suits!
But why is a four-year-old game being released on PC a big deal? Well, it follows other previously console-exclusive games (such as Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition) that were well-received on the last generation system and have since been made available to a wider audience. This not only lets more people experience these great titles, generating new buzz and getting players talking about them once again, but it also gives the developers more incentive to — hopefully — release other games in the respective franchises.
Re-releases can breathe new life into slightly older games, and it’s nice to see people falling in love with these titles — Days Gone being one that I adored, but never got the recognition I felt it deserved — and it’s also a great excuse to replay them again!
But let’s not forget one of the greatest aspects of PC games: modding! Imagine the possibilities that await when Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered comes to PC? New suits, graphical upgrades, or perhaps some outlandish additions seen in other popular games?
Take God of War, for example: an absolutely incredible game that was met with critical acclaim upon its release in 2018 (wow, that was a good year for PlayStation!) and received even more praise when it was released on PC earlier this year, whilst also receiving some fantastic (and hilarious) mods.
One final thought, I genuinely dislike exclusivity in gaming. It’s slightly disheartening seeing a new game I’m interested in releasing on a platform I don’t own. Variety is a good thing, but sharing is caring, right?
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
So, that’s why I think that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered coming to the PC is a good idea. Will you be picking the game up when it releases on 12th August 2022?
