Fantastic reimagining of the 80s classic racing games like Outrun . Now with a lengthy campaign and some RPG Lite elements . Also runs at a beautiful smooth framerate . So far I've spent many happy hours whizzing down its glorious retroesque streets while listening to its unique synthwave musical scores . If there ever was a love letter to the 80s classic arcade racers then this is it !!! []V[] .. []O[] .. []X[] .. []⨝[]

80's Overdrive is a third-person arcade racing game in the style of 16-bit classics like Outrun. It successfully captures the look and feel of the racing games that ran on arcade machines in the late 80s

If you're an old fart like me, you probably remember a game in the arcades named Outrun. It ate a lot of your quarters while you raced along various courses and listened to a frenetic '80s soundtrack. Here is your chance to relive the glory days of Outrun on your PC. Yes, it's an arcade racer with less than realistic physics but, let's face it, you aren't here to play Assetto Corsa, are you? This game is a fun way to kill a bit of time and pretend to be a teenager again while enjoying colorful 16-bit style graphics and a thumping soundtrack.

We have many pros here like the presence of adrenaline, challenging yet not frustrating difficulty, easy and responsive controls, effect of upgrades, presence of police and side tasks in some races, nice graphics and good soundtrack. On the negative side are cheating of your opponents, too unrealistic behavior of civil drivers, sometimes almighty police and creeping stereotype as a result of too simplistic driving model. And the absence of local multiplayer. Guys - devs, this guys is shouting for split screen multiplayer, was it so hard to include it there? Still the game is suitable for family playing even with smaller kids thanks to easy accessibility, balanced difficulty and short races. Pros: - adrenaline - balanced difficulty - controls - upgrades - side tasks - graphics - soundtrack Cons: - behavior of civil drivers - opponents are cheating sometimes - creeping stereotype - absence of local multiplayer If only there was split screen multiplayer I would give this nice little game an even better mark. Like this I am still giving it Thumbs Up and VideoGaming Father’s Index 7- out of 10 - recommended with some discount.
