My Video Review is available here:
Is 80’s OVERDRIVE a good tribute to the 80’s arcade racing legends like Lotus Esprit or Outrun? We have many pros here like the presence of adrenaline, challenging yet not frustrating difficulty, easy and responsive controls, effect of upgrades, presence of police and side tasks in some races, nice graphics and good soundtrack. On the negative side are cheating of your opponents, too unrealistic behavior of civil drivers, sometimes almighty police and creeping stereotype as a result of too simplistic driving model. And the absence of local multiplayer. Guys - devs, this guys is shouting for split screen multiplayer, was it so hard to include it there? Still the game is suitable for family playing even with smaller kids thanks to easy accessibility, balanced difficulty and short races.
- balanced difficulty
- side tasks
- behavior of civil drivers
- opponents are cheating sometimes
- creeping stereotype
- absence of local multiplayer
If only there was split screen multiplayer I would give this nice little game an even better mark. Like this I am still giving it Thumbs Up and VideoGaming Father’s Index 7- out of 10 - recommended with some discount.
