About A Fisherman's Tale

About this game

Bend and twist reality in A Fisherman's Tale, the mind-bending VR puzzle adventure game in which being turned upside down and inside out is not merely a play on words.

Playing as Bob, a tiny fisherman puppet, you live alone in your tiny cabin, oblivious to the world outside. When your radio broadcasts a storm alert, you have to get to the top of the lighthouse and turn on the light! But as you try to leave your cabin with the help of some uncanny sidekicks, you realize what's waiting outside is not at all what you expected...

  • Break more than a couple laws of physics in mind-bending VR puzzles!
  • Make it to the top of the lighthouse before The Big Storm, with the help of some uncanny sidekicks!
  • Use your hands to pick up, throw, combine, and use all kinds of things in glorious fully immersive virtual reality!
  • Toy around with your tiny little model lighthouse, inside a lighthouse, inside a... is that another lighthouse?
  • Uncover the truth at the core of an unusually tall Fisherman's Tale, exclusively in VR.

Brought to you by Vertigo Games, the team behind Arizona Sunshine® and Skyworld, A Fisherman's Tale is developed by INNERSPACE VR in co-production with ARTE France with the support of CNC, Ville de Paris New Media Fund and BPI France.

A short tale that’s pretty good with simplistic puzzles, the graphics are good also.

A simply amazing little puzzle game that is charming and having you need to think outside the box, yet still making every solution quite logical and sensible. The game simply oozes with charm from it's enjoyable voice acting, characters, story and gameplay. It operates via teleportation movement, so it is less likely to cause motion sickness. However, there are 2 specific sequences in the game that has your perspective move without your input. For me, this caused no issues at all, and it was not a problem, but it caused my wife to feel great motion sickness and discomfort. These parts are not important, so you can close your eyes and you will be fine. It also needs to be stated that this game is rather short, and if you base your purchases on how long it will run, rather than how it made you feel when playing, you might be better of getting this one a sale at some point. For me, as someone who has come to enjoy shorter, but well thought out games that do not overstay their welcome, I would easily endorse this any day of the week. That said, the game was so enjoyable, that I can not help but wish there was more, but are happy with what I got. :) This is a must play for almost anyone I can think of. Cheers!

It's really fun to play. It's immersive, and makes you think you're actually on a boat.

Fantastic must-have game, but too short.

I think the game was fantastic. A beautiful, story-rich puzzle/adventure game. Very fun and interesting mechanics, and a must-experience for any VR user. My only criticism is that it was too short. I was not upset at the lack of length, but I expected more than two 30 minute sessions before completing the entirety of the game.
