About American Fugitive

About this game

Help a misjudged criminal seek vengeance in American Fugitive. With this Steam PC key, you'll experience a modern take on classic sandbox action offering a new 3D top-down, open-world, single-player experience.

THE TRUTH
Follow the journey of Will Riley, a fugitive who busts out of jail in order to track down the real culprit behind his father's brutal murder. Venture across the sleepy town of 1980s Redrock County, a booming criminal underbelly, as you seek to cleanse your burning desire for vengeance and clarity.

Blend in with citizens to avoid recapture, attempt to establish contact with the criminal underworld and stay one step ahead of the police who are hot on your trail.

CLASSIC GAMEPLAY, NEW ERA
Feel the nostalgia with classic top-down carnage combined with stunning 3D graphics - alongside destructible environments, dramatic storytelling and epic car chases.

Unravel a plot of mystery, betrayal and corruption, one that is full of twists and turns, bursting with ever infamous feud between law-breakers and law-enforcers.

OPEN-WORLD
Dodge the cops and venture across Redrock County on foot or by car. Take time out from dealing with the criminal underworld and dramatic car chases to experience the beautiful rural surroundings.

Test yourself in time trial challenges and stunt jumps located across the county with numerous vehicles to choose from.

NOT GUILTY, BUT NOT QUITE INNOCENT
You didn't murder your father, but that won't stop you from becoming a felon. Uncover hidden stashes, rob houses, steal cars and arm yourself with an array of weaponry.

Some sound advice: don't get caught...and don't die!

Pick up on a Special offer/Bundle

Bigfoot is a Gamer
Staff Review
It's not a bad game by any means. But I wish they did so much more with this. If you're a fan of the early GTA series, I think its worth a play. But best pick up when on offer or in a bundle.

As close as we'll get to something like the original GTA games and just as much variety as the PS1 games. Whole thing is the same from beginning to end. Driving and shooting is the absolute worst and I couldn't care about the story one bit and yet that ransacking burglary minigame made up for all of that. If any of the thief sims felt as good, you know? Get it when it's on sale for a great way to kill some time but it doesn't feel as finished as it should to warrant the retail price.

🎮Gameplay Step into the shoes of Will Riley, a falsely accused convict that is being blamed and is seen as suspect “numero uno” for the timely death of his father. After spending half his stint in prison, Will daringly escapes in hopes of getting back to a “normal” life. Now, armed with the idea of vengeance, Will is out to find leads on who was really behind the death of his father, no matter the moral consequence or the legal ramifications. Interestingly done, this is a modernized re-imagining of the early additions of the GTA franchise. You will have a few things you are able to do, general law-breaking like stealing cars, holding up stores, breaking into residents’ houses to relinquish them of all of their hard-earned savings and expensive possessions, and then pawn it for the fraction of what it actually costs. Besides the obvious criminality of American FUGITIVE, you can also take part in some challenges, like stunt jumps and racing time trials. But be wary, you wouldn’t have seen driving mechanics like this since the Dukes of Hazzard where it feels like all the roads are soaked in oil and your car is as heavy as a piece of scrap paper, where making one full left or right movement of the steering wheel makes your entire equilibrium shift and every life decision you’ve made comes into question. American Fugitive takes place in 3 different counties, however, naming them doesn’t seem all that important as they really can not be distinguished from one another, they all kind of look the same, pose the same challenges, same side missions, and the same collectibles. The only difference is the story moves in a different direction. The story is taken right off of the shelf of “generic stereotypical American deep south characters and movie tropes selection”, we have the scrappy mechanic, the femme fatale, the pompously rich and demanding, the main antagonist, and a powerhouse politician. The story doesn’t do much to keep you involved, most of your time will be spent on robbing houses and running away from the police since they are around every corner and the slightest inconvenience sets their AI to pissed. 💯🔅Upgrades, Stores and Services American Fugitive has plenty of upgrades available, however, it’s difficult to determine the need for quite a few of them since they seem rather redundant. Obvious choices for useful upgrades would be along the lines of more health, more stamina, more carry capacity, health...

Good GTA Classic style game!

American Fugitive is a call back to the classic GTA top down bit graphic games I grew up with. While at the same time adding more story, simular to current GTA games. It's got all your basics. Steal Cars, run from the law, crazy mission, events, break ins and an interesting little story. There is a nice mechanic of timed brake-ins and npc walking around can see what you do. Thus getting the law on you if your not quick or stealthy. Driving is not the best but is not that hard either. Also, you can't just go crazy with driving. Even knocking over a street lamp can get the cops on you. Being a top down game. Don't expect GTA 5 graphics, but I love what you get. One of the best features of the game is how aware the AI is of what you do. If they can see you, they will take note of it. If you change your close to try and throw off the cops, but they see you do it or there is a witness. Then you will here over the radio about what you are now wearing. Steal a car, they talk about it. Even if you do change closes without them seeing you. They are looking. So if you do something to get you noticed. They will be all over you. You can evade them but it's not as simple. With Stamina slowing you down. You can't just run. You really have to evade them. So, if you like GTA and more classic style of game play. With fun story and good game play. Hit this game up.

American Fugitive is like the first GTA games. And the settings for this game is similar for 'The Fugitive' from 1993 with Harrison Ford.
