This is a solitaire with minor RPG elements and not an RPG with solitaire-based combat. + unique combat system where you have to select cards with a number next to the previously picked card (e.g. 3454565434). Longer combos increase your the effects of your action in this turn (you can only do a single action each turn) + creating long chains can be fun, at least for the first few times +/- enemies have resistances and immunities and damage types so you are incentivised to pick correct equipment/spells before the fight. It's boring and annoying, why not make it a dynamic decision you can make during a fight somehow? - even during combat encounters your enemy doesn't influence the game board in any way, it's just for the player. It feels lonely... - each fight is the same - you start by doing a very long combo (and that's the best time to do it, since you have all of your board-control skills ready to deploy), do massive damage and then do (smaller) chains to finish off the enemy. Bosses are the same but it just takes longer and sometimes you finish the turn with a block instead of an attack - you rarely see that cards are hidden below on the board. This kills any chance of strategic planning of your moves long term. Compare this to a good match-3 game: you can see (to some extent) how your action will change the board and you have to plan where to finish your turn to leave your enemy in a bad position and on top of that there are on average far more possible actions on the board you can take. All of that is missing, but it could have been a part of this game! Always make more than half of the cards visible, let your enemy move as you do and dramatically increase the board size (currently it's tiny). There are so many more things that I wish was done to make things more chaotic, but there seemed to be absolutely no desire to do anything interesting... - because of the above issues it gets very repetitive very fast. From what I checked the last boss looks like all other encounters I had during my short playtime

A well made solitaire-type card game with combat mechanics that can be played casually. About 10 hours worth of gameplay here. Storyline can be skipped and not intrusive.

Effective solitaire with fun twists.

Fun solitaire with light RPG elements (equipment and skills). Each level is either a fight against a specific opponent or a puzzle to solve in order to get loot.

Needs work but it's not bad

The game works fine no performance issues. The gameplay is slow and a bit confusing. But, it's a fairly casual game. On the border of something your boomer mom might enjoy. Difficulty is around a medium to high medium for casual games, you'll have to think a bit to win. Graphics are hand drawn, they look good but they're not as highly detailed as they could be. When you get a big combo there's no exciting effects which hurts the game. Sound is just under serviceable, nothing spectacular. Could use some more satisfying tactile sounds for your cards.

Thumbs Sideways

It's not a bad game, but it's more a thumbs sideways from me. I don't have enough issues with it to not recommend it, but I probably won't finish it and felt like I had seen pretty much what the game had to offer by hour 2-3. It's solitaire vs. monsters, similar to Puzzle Quest (except solitaire rather than match 3). It introduced a few new mechanics throughout the game, but nothing that changes the fact that you are playing fancy solitaire over and over and over again. It's relaxing but dull. On the technical side, the game seemed buggy on launch and exit on Windows 10.

This is a decent RPG card battler, but not as good as Grey Alien Games' "Shadowhand". The main campaign is about 15 hours long.
