I've played most sim-racing games on the market, from rFactor2 to Automobilista 2. The only game of note I haven't played is iRacing, since I'm not into multiplayer. In my opinion Assetto Corsa is the best of the bunch. My previous favourite was Raceroom, but they messed up their AI, and Assetto Corsa quickly became my new favourite after switching to it. In AC you can adjust how the AI will behave, so if you want clean "gentleman" racing you can get that in this game. Most sim games have this function, but still it's a great feature to have. Another favourite of mine was Autombilista, but I encountered some game-breaking bugs in that game, like a save-loss. In contrast I have not experienced any technical faults playing AC, which I want to point out. The driving physics is great and immersive, on par with what I consider to be the very best (rFactor2 and Automobilista). The graphics puts AC above most other sim racing games, and even though I value physics and gameplay more than photorealism I can still appreciate the extra lengths they took to make AC look beautiful. It's a complete game, where you get a Career mode, free-play mode, custom championship mode, etc. With the Ultimate Edition you get all of the DLC. If you want a fantastic sim racing game where you can tailor the experience to your liking, has great physics, lots of content, tonnes of mods, and looks beautiful, it's a no-brainer ... especially at today's prices. Even now in 2021, this is still an awesome game, as there's nothing like it on the market in my opnion, that ticks so many boxes (gameplay, graphics, content, software quality, etc).

One of the best driving sims out there with an excellent sound in sound department, big and vast mod and third-party software/plugin support from the Assetto Corsa community, and above all else when driving the cars you truly feel the need, the need for speed. Quite responsive when using sim gear (AKA wheels and such) as well as having very nice VR setting available. Be warned though that this game requires some experience because this game is more focused on racing, while the career mode is somewhat challenging but in multiplayer once could say you have a very solid experience.

After diving into Youtube videos for a month, asking Twitch Streamers opinions, and finally downloading and setting up Assetto Corsa, It's clear this is far superior to its competition. This was a bargain. The mod support is great too, with Race Department providing cars & tracks, loads of content to jump into! I'm only using a Logitech G920, setup with LUT files, Content Manager, Custom Shaders Patch, Sol weather & a few optional mods. Drive an F1 car on the Wangan? Sure! Hot lap the Nordschleife in a racing lawn mower? We got you covered. This was fairly easy to set up & get working with mods, 100% worth the effort to watch some Assetto Corsa content creators to get an insight. Content Manager is a fantastic tool for utilizing the potential of this games ability to make cars feel real. There are plenty of videos on Youtube discussing the merits, praising the handling & tyre damage model. These mods make a big difference to the stock game, played on a mid entry non direct drive wheel. As a new player? I'm stunned as to how close it feels to real world driving. Having been lucky enough to experience driving some of these cars in real life (Supra Mk4, BMW M3, Ariel Atom to name a few) the handling feels awesome, but only after I got the wheel setup working with a LUT file.
