About Beholder

About this game

Developed by Warm Lamp Games and published by Alawar Premium.

Take control of a state-installed manager of an apartment building set in a totalitarian state with Beholder, a dystopian title where your choices matter.

Freedom No Longer Exists

Beholder is set in a universe where freedom is a pipe dream. Take control of an apartment building manager as you make your tenants happy and ensure their safety and comfort.

Spy on Your Renters

Secretly spy over your tenants and eavesdrop on their conversations. Do anything in your power to get information from them: bug their apartments, search their belongings whilst they're away, and create a profile for your superiors. You work for the state, and your singular job is to find any potential threats to report.

Side With the State

Get information for potential threats to the state and report them to get them sent away. Stay true to the regime and prove your loyalty to ensure your safety and those you care the most for.

Defend the People

Alternatively, use the information you have to inform others of the threat they pose to the state to defend them. Cling to your humanity and ensure that those that do not deserve punishment go unharmed.

Or Exploit The to Your Benefit

Or use the information you gather on them to exploit them to your benefit. Blackmail them for money, use the information to gain power, and ensure the safety of your family by taking matters into your own hands.

Your Choices Have Consequences

Whether you side with the regime, protect your tenants, or exploit them to your benefit, you'll have to face the consequences down the line that you'll have to live with. Interact with dozens of characters, complete many quests, and see how your choices affect the world around you.

One of the best games I have ever played. Nice story, difficult ethical dilemmas, many endings. In a dystopic strange militaristic country, you are the ears and the eyes of the system. But soon enough you will find difficult to do what you are supposed to do. Will you help the innocents to flee from the mad goverment or you sent them to meet the proper punishment... Will you do it even if the cost is your life.... or even worst the life of a member of your family??

Beholder is an excellent point-and-click game with an Orwellian ambience and story. Without spoiling too much (part of the fun), you are just another individual tasked with upholding the law, obeying your orders and making sure your neighbourhood does so too, all the while taking care of your family. Or are you? Captivating, filled with decisions and real consequences, Beholder is a great little gem of a game. A must-have for fans of the genre and setting.
