About BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend

About this game

Face Fate and Find the Best Future

Arc System Works’ 2D anime-styled fighter franchise is back for its second installment with this ultimate edition! After being saved from certain destruction and an endless time loop in the heart of Kagutsuchi by one Noel Vermillion, Ragna the Bloodedge’s business with the Librarium continues when he senses the reawakening of a hated enemy: Yuuki Terumi. But with a plethora of new characters joining the mix and bringing BlazBlue up to 19 fighters, each with their own desires, will anyone be able to get what they want? And who is this Captain Hazama and what does he want with Ragna’s Azure Grimoire and Noel? And why do events seem to be repeating themselves again?

A Plethora of New Fighters

The special Extend version of Continuum Shift comes with all DLC from the original title included, as well as several new features and an exclusive new character. All of the fan favorites are back, including the speedy Taokaka, the electrifyingly sturdy Iron Tager, and the city Major Jin Kisaragi, but now players can duke it out as Noel’s old classmate Tsubaki Yayoi, a sword-and-shield wielder, and Makoto Nanaya, a squirrel demi-human who packs a devastating punch; the mysterious and snakelike Hazama; Rachel Alucard’s Lycanthrope butler, Valkenhayn R. Helsing; the mystically powerful Platinum the Trinity; and the brand new Relius Clover, a puppet master with dark designs for those around him and a wretched past with his family, including his son, Carl Clover.

Descend into the Abyss or Face Your Greatest Challenge Yet!

Continuum Shift Extend features a variety of brand new modes to engage with, like Abyss Mode, where you can pick a given character and descend through the levels of Kagutsuchi, defeat waves of powerful enemies, level up your stats, and try to survive until you reach the 999th floor, or even further than that if you’re skilled enough. Plus, if that endurance survival challenge doesn’t quite catch your fancy, try Unlimited Mars Mode, a souped-up version of Score Attack, where every character you face is in their Unlimited state and capable of handing you your butt in ten seconds, flat. Extend not only adds a bunch of new fun modes to play around in, but the game also extends the other existing options! Every character has their own unique Story Mode, with three additional side stories also being available, including a Reconstruction of the events of Calamity Trigger, just in case you either don’t want to pick up the first game in the series or if you’d like a refresher with the best fights from that title’s Story Mode. Plus, now players have the option of turning on Stylish Mode, which simplifies most of the controls, making for an easier and more accessible starting point for new players! Then, once all is said and done, check out the new Gallery, with more art, scenes, and unlockable content than ever before.

This gets teh same review as the other older Blazblue game. Great for collectors or singleplayer people only. Not worth it for multiplayer. Has some quirks in terms of resolution choices. Otherwise it has a solid trial mode and plenty of characters to give a playthrough with.

A great story continues and it shows great benefits. However, this game might let you feel a little bit work feeling.

The game is acutually good. Graphics is not great, edges are not smooth. Controller is supported which is nice. Overall, if you like fighting games is worth a buy on discount not on full price.
