About Calico

About this game

Calico is a day-in-the-life community sim game where you are given an important and adorable task: rebuild the town’s cat café and fill it with cute and cuddly creatures! Build up your café by filling it with cute furniture, fun decorations, and yummy pastries, and get it bustling with animals again!

Calico is meant to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The gameplay reflects that with a laid-back, low-stress creative environment to explore and play in.

Character Creator

The Calico character creator will allow players to create their own magical person to experience the world. There will also be plenty of clothing to choose from and collect throughout the game!

All Animals are Interactive!

The player will encounter many animals in the world of Calico. Once befriended, you can name them, add them to your party, or send them to their new home at the café. Animals in your party will follow you everywhere you go and listen to your commands. The animals in your café will relax and play with any customers that pop in for a visit.

Café Decoration

Your task in Calico is to bring the town's café back to life again. This isn’t just achieved by bringing in cats and animals alone, however – you can also decorate your café with furniture of different styles to create the perfect cosy home for you and your animals!

Cooking Minigame

Create a wonderful café by making yummy baked goods and drinks for the townspeople! Learn about your fellow villagers to pick and choose their favourite foods to sell!

Magic of Calico

We wanted there to be no limits to how you could find happiness in Calico. Magic potions are a system that allows us to break the rules of what is possible and to find what would be the most fun. Example: the More-to-pet Potion allows the player to magically turn a single animal giant-sized! You can hang out with a giant animal, or even ride a giant cat!

Lovely game with lots of cute animals, friendly NPCs and little quests to do. You can decorate your cafe, change the looks of your character, so quests you get from NPCs, explore the words, unlock new parts of the map, collect animals, etc. I spent almost 6 hours completing everything the game offers (doing all the quests, meeting all the animals, opening all parts of the map), it is surely possible to be faster I just took my time. The game looks very nice, I love the graphic style of the world, characters and animals. The music was a bit annoying after a while but you can turn that off. There are a few bugs in the game, no question, nothing game breaking for me, everything fixed itself after a while. I really enjoyed the game a lot and guess that you can spend a lot more time on it if you want. If you are not the type of player who enjoys a world after the story is done, maybe get the game on sale though :) A controller is recommended for playing the game. It is possible with mouse and keyboard but some bits are very akward without controller (I especially struggled in the character creation and inventory).

Cute game, just know it only has about 6-8 hours of gameplay. It seems not very well fleshed out, and has a lot of good ideas that would have been great to expand on. Cute characters, like their backgrounds, and carrying animals is amazing as you just plop them on your head to "store" them. Just wish they had expanded on it all further.

A nice concept, cute and pleasant, but it feels very amateur. The character creator was unintuitive and the interactions within the game, mechanics and menus feel scuffed. Could be a good game but it needs some serious polish.

Love it!

This game was cuter than I expected it to be. Not a lot to it. Typical type of "decorate your store" type thing. But with the added benefit of a giant cat.

It's a great game, had a few fun hours playing it. Playing with floating dogs, riding giant cats, cooking while being tiny, this game has it all!

Skyrim + Animal Crossing, a cat that can do everything with a cat From the disadvantages, ugly NPCs and main characters, sometimes broken cat physics engine, strange Korean language While exploring the map and expanding the cafe while fulfilling the requests of the villagers If you find an animal you like, you can kidnap it and lock it in a cafe. Cats, dogs, deer, foxes, bears, red pandas, crows, and many other animals appear. You can lift the cat, put it on your head, play with it, or increase it with magic and ride it. Ultimately, it is possible to use a potion to turn yourself into a cat. Goods exist, but they are only used for purchasing clothes or cafe decoration items. If you unlock the cafe recipe and make it, the residents will pay for it and eat it. Local movement is also pleasant, so the cafe teleport potion is provided by default It was a game without any stress factor that I hadn't played in a while. A true healing game for online butlers like me who want to raise a cat but cannot afford it

This is a very cute game with lots of different animals to collect. Building up a pet cafe and exploring a strange island. The music can get a bit repetitive after a while. The cell-shaded graphics and character designs are sweet. Perhaps overly so. But that's all part of the fun.
