About Cat Quest

About this game

Cat Quest is an open world RPG set in the pawsome world of cats!

Leap into a grand adventure in purrsuit of the evil Drakoth and your catnapped sister! Explore Felingard's huge overworld map, risk life and limb delving into dungeons for epic loot, and lend a paw to a furry cast of characters in a flurry of side quests.

Real-time Combat

Combat in Cat Quest takes place entirely in real time, allowing you to get close to enemies with a slash of your blade, dodge roll to avoid a counter-attack, and then finish them off with powerful magic! Wield the ancient spells of Lightnyan, Flamepurr, and Healpaw to vanquish your foes! (Fur real!)

Equipment Customization

Outfit your catventurer with a whole basket of equipment! Prefurr casting spells? Don an arcane hood, robes, and a staff to bolster your mana reserves! Want to protect yourself from attack? Deck out your catventurer with chainmail armor to increase your health and provide an extra level of protection. Weapons, armor, and spells can be mixed and matched to create the purrfect combinations for your playstyle!

World Exploration

The world of Felingard is littered with interesting places and people! Discover a possessed town whose residents lust for obscene amounts of meat, assist the mages Mewlin and Meowgan in their search to break a magic seal, and locate someone's missing delivery of "House of Parchments" and "The Pouncing Dead". Exploration is one of the main scratching posts of Cat Quest, and with locations such as Bermewda's Triangle, the Furbidden Fields, and Pawt City to explore, it's time to get pawing!

Soundtrack

Experience an enchanting orchestral score inspired by classic RPGs!

Love it!

I love cat quest. Found it worked as a nice short rpg. And for those that would like a bit more challenge it has varying modes that can ramp up the difficulty for subsequent playthroughs. Great job from a small indie team.

You don't have to own a cat or be a cat lover to enjoy this open-world RPG - but, hey, it helps! This quirky Steam game from PQube provides hours of fun exploring a colorful fantasy world with plenty of customizable features and heroic battles.

This is an extremely well made game. Music, controls and graphics are amazing and the story (main as well as side) are incredibly thought-though and detailed. Many of the side stories connect to each other and create a larger picture. They make the world more interesting and in-depth and really make it feel more alive. There is also quite a lot to do (it took me about 12 hours to complete the quests, complete all dungeons and ruins. There is also a lot of replayability as you unlock "Mew game" after the first playthough. There you can replay the game with modifiers such as "stronger enemies", "level 1" (being unable to level up), "naked cat" (not being able to equip any armor or weapons) and "nine lives" (you can only die 9 times). While these are interesting, they make the game a whole lot harder. And it is not easy to begin with. The combat focuses a lot on doging and there are a few enemies in the higher level dungeon that can one-hit you when you don't manage to get out of their attack-range in time. That being said, the combat gets almost unbearingly hard with only one modifier (and one achievements even challenges you to complete the game with three on at the same time). I started Mew game and quit before defeating the first two enemies because they continuously killed me (I only had enabled "stronger enemies). If you think the game is a nice and easy game because of the cute graphics: be warned. i also have to add that i like the second game much better than this one.

This game is pretty fun, especially for young kids. The art style is great and the combat is just challenging enough to be engaging without getting too frustrating.

I actually really like this game as does my 9 year old daughter (who I bought it for) and my 13 year old son. It is just a good RPG with cute cats fighting dragons. I am not a cat lover but it didn't turn me off to the game and I still really like the ascetics and game play. Great game.

I personally didn't play this game from this key. I bought a bunch of games for a friend to giveaway. But! I played the ps4 version. 100%'d it and loved every minute of it! Puns are amazing and I wish it had multiplayer like Cat Quest 2!

Pretty fun game. The design is a bit silly, but the game seems to embrace it, and the mechanics while relatively simple are still pretty enjoyable

Short but sweet is what perfectly sums up this game I think. I'll go over several aspects of this game with a TL;DR at the end Gameplay: The gameplay is fairly simple, you have an attack, a dodge and 4 buttons for magic spells. Every enemy has a set pattern of attacks so once you learn those (and it's quite easy to do so) you don't really have to fear your enemies anymore. There are quite a lot of side quests which all take a few minutes each, They don't really add any new mechanics but it's a somewhat nice addition to the game anyway. It's all fairly casual and it's pretty nice to just pick up for a bit but not something I would personally play all day long. Story: The story is very basic and the side quests are alright, some quest chains have a fun storyline going on but a lot of them are just riddled with a lot of bad cat puns (Up to you if you like that or not). Character progression: Again very basic, you can level up and this automatically makes your character stronger. You can invest gold in your magic skills to make those stronger and you can find gear in dungeons (Finding the same piece upgrades it), You can also take a gamble in gear shops and buy gear from a randomized gear box. It's all very basic but that does not mean it's bad. It's pretty nice if you just want to hack and slash and blast away at enemies without really thinking about min-maxing your character like in some other games. Steam Deck: This game plays perfectly on the Steam Deck and I truly think it's one of those games that shines when played on a handheld platform due to it's casual nature and art style. A full battery will last you around 5-6 hours on this game (Although I did have it paired with Nreal Air Glasses which extend the battery life) Graphics: Fun unique and cute style as can be seen from the videos and screenshots on the site, usually I'm more in to 3D games but occasionally give 2D games a chance if they look fun at first glance. Length: It really depends on if you want to do everything in the game or just want to rush through the main story, but I reckon if you would start playing on a Saturday morning and had nothing else to do you could finish it that same day. TL;DR If you're looking for a complex game with in depth character building or a great story, this is not the game you're looking for. However if you are in the market for a more casual hack and slash game that's just fun and allows you to turn your brain off then this is a great contender. Easy...
