About DARK SOULS™ III

About this game

Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.

In the final installment of the notorious DARK SOULS franchise, embark on a quest to gather the embers of the fallen Lords of Cinder and reignite the flame to bring but a moment's respite to the darkening lands of Lothric... or die trying.

Another Dogged Contender

Take control of the Ashen One, a creature born of ash in search of the flame of the Lords of Cinder. Make your own character, including numerous customization options, and create the build to tackle the foes of DARK SOULS III, as only brute force won't carry you to the end.

And So It Is, That Ash Seeketh Embers

As the Ashen One, you will search for the four Lords of Cinder — the Abyss Watchers, Aldrich, Saint of the Deep, Ludleth of Courland, and Yhorm the Giant — in order to attain the power and rekindle the dying flame. Not all will go willingly, however, as you'll be tasked with slaying these great foes and achieving their power in order to become a Lord of Cinder yourself. Unless...

Four Different Endings

DARK SOULS III has four different endings for you to attain, each with a different ultimate conclusion to the franchise! By completing various questlines for the numerous characters, you'll be able to reach different endings to see all possible scenarios!

This game is an incredible culmination of lore and gameplay growth on FromSoftware's part, building and completing the Dark Souls trilogy. While level design doesn't quite live up to the previous two, the bosses in this game are some of the best in all of video games.

So first I need to say I have not played a lot. And yes I’m mostly doing this to enter the coupon competition. I have only played about 5 hours or so of the game. What I can say from that though, is a fair bit. The game is great, very interesting with fun combat, beautiful visual design and landmarks, great atmosphere and a very interesting story. It is fun to learn how to beat enemies and the game surprised me with mechanics and enemies I very much did not expect to be so afraid of. Some game mechanics like how weapons and character building works, and what all the different attributes/strengths do, are a little overwhelming at first, but you do start to understand them fairly well after just a little while. It might also be that I’ve never really played any more raw character creation based rpg games before. Now the only real issue I have with the game is that you have to repeat going through a lot of enemies to get to the one who previously killed you. It does put me off especially if I don’t know where the next bonfire (checkpoint) is, but I do understand that it does force me to truly master enemies, so I can easily get back to where I was with less frustration. If I put more effort into it I would probably find myself liking it. I’m just not used to infrequent checkpoints and a lot of backtracking. But honestly that is really the only problem I have with the game, and I fully expect myself to start playing it again when I feel up to it.
