Dead Island Definitive Edition is a FPS / RPG game, where you need to survive at an exotic island, where zombies attack you and your partners, your goal is to survive and leave from the island. I playthrough the game with one of my friend, so my experience mainly based from CO-OP mode. The graphics is still amazing, and this rework makes it even better. The environment is beautiful, gore works nicely, however there are few graphics bug (missing texture, overlapped textures etc.), which sometimes broke the experience, I hope they fix it in this rework. Controls are also easy to learn, however the fury activation sometimes work, sometimes not, also attacking is sometimes happen in time, sometimes it's really delayed, so it feels weird most of the times. Sounds and musics interestingly works really good in the game, I like both aspects throughout my experience. Gameplay is a crucial part of this game. To be honest the story is not that interesting, there are some little backstories about the survivors, you can also learn more about your character(s) background, but it's not really part of the game. The enemies level up with you, you meet new type of enemies if you advance in your game further, which is nice. Leveling up in the game actually takes time, not easy to reach high level, my highest was 41. It's nice to see, that the playable characters are different in stat wise, also in the Definitive Edition you can play with one more character. Quests are somewhat interesting, however there are few which was buggy (Blood Ties, any mission related to the city's police station, few others) which made the experience harder and more annoying. There are 'Continouse Quests' in the game, which are collecting different items for different characters and they gave you the same reward if you give them what they need. These missions later become inrelevant and not useful to do, because these rewards are weak. Upgrade and Inventory system works good, however repairing weapons is big portion of the game, and later it getting more and more ridiculous, when you have to repair your weapons 0-24, and the costs are high, too. It's weird, but understandable move. Thanks to the Definitive Edition, we get a new place called 'Bloodbath Arenas'. These are survival arenas and the army controlling these. Basically there are 4 different arenas with different difficulties. Also there is a shopkeeper, where you can buy ammo, which is huge in the early game. Also zombies gets...

Long story short, it's good for the year it was made in. There are a number of clunky things with controls that felt rather unpolished. However, the general moment to moment gameplay is decent. The game is best described as Borderlands but Zombies(but much, much slower), so if that sounds up your alley, give it a try.
