About Dead Rising® 2

About this game

Can you survive Fortune City in Dead Rising 2 from Capcom?

Unleashing Creativity Through Combo Weapons

Dead Rising 2, the sequel to the successful Dead Rising, immerses the player in the role of Chuck Greene, a former Motocross champion. Greene is participating in the gruesome game show "Terror is Reality" in Fortune City, America's newest gambling metropolis, where he must survive in a zombie-infested environment. The stakes are high, as Greene’s daughter Katey depends on the pricey Zombrex drug to keep her from transforming into a zombie after being bitten. The game unfolds into a tense survival thriller as Fortune City succumbs to a zombie outbreak, and Greene must fend off the undead for 72 hours while uncovering the larger conspiracy behind the outbreak.

Co-Op Gameplay

Dead Rising 2 offers the series' signature gameplay along with new features. It provides an online 2-player co-op mode for shared zombie-bashing fun. The game challenges players to be resourceful and inventive in creating combo weapons to combat the zombie hordes. These combination weapons, crafted from everyday objects, not only provide a fun and powerful way to eliminate zombies but also earn players Prestige Points (PPs) to level up Chuck.

From the Mall to Fortune City

The game boasts several key features, such as the presence of thousands of zombies on-screen creating a dynamic and challenging experience. It introduces new characters, including protagonist Chuck Greene, new survivors, and more vicious psychos. Unique combo weapons can be created using everyday items, and the game introduces co-op play for the first time in the series. The multiplayer mode 'Terror is Reality' pits zombies against players in a gladiator-style contest.

While Not As Good As The 1st, I Am Skeptical Why Fanatical Doesn't Carry The First Game, However, This One Is Fun To Play If You Love Killing Some Zombies, And Love Gore, Grab This Game, It Won't Disappoint.

Dead Rising 2 is probably the most unique zombie game ever made. Instead of fighting for survival in a post apocalyptic world, in Dead Rising 2 you are fighting in the post apocalyptic tv show "Terror is Reality" for money. You need the money to buy medicine for your zombie virus infected daughter. That's not all the game also features "zombie rights" organisations and activists, a grand government conspiracy, las vegas heists, a whole lot of corruption and some really weird world building. With all of that as a backdrop you are slaughtering your way through the hordes of zombies in search for valuable items and to work off the list of checkpoints. The zombie killing part is excellent. There is a ton of weapon variety, but not that much enemy variety. The levels are okay in terms of layout, but really well made in terms of looks. In general the game has a great art style. Sound is okay too. The graphics looks a bit dated, but that is to be expected by the game's age alone. However there are problems. Some parts of the game are repetitive, the controls and especially the camera are not very good (you basically need a controller to play the game, forget the mouse and keyboard controls) and the game has it's fair share of glitches and bugs, especially in areas that are full of zombies. You gotta have some "jank" tolerance to finish the game, but it's not nearly as bad as some other pc ports of it's time. In general, I can definitely recommend Dead Rising 2, not just for it's gameplay, but the setting and style alone.
