This is the best Digimon game I ever played.
I'm sure a lot of people won't like the game just because it's mostly a visual novel with too little gameplay, but the story is really amazing.
To be honest, it's really dark and mature for Digimon standards, but maybe that's why I love it.

Boring and repetitive gameplay. Tried to borrow mechanics from other similar titles for it's tactical part (catch them all theme, negotiations etc) but not all of them necessarily made sense for the type of game this was. Characters were annoying at times, even though we are talking about 15 year old kids here, the intelligence of a teenager felt highly underestimated. Lots of cliché character archetypes, often felt forced. Also choices often didn't make sense (the text on the choice didn't make it obvious what the conversation following it was going to be the majority of the time. Not sure if this was a localization issue). It was a VN at heart, but an average one at best. I can't recommend it, even though I love the Digimon franchise. If you decide to buy and stick with it though, I can say that it picks up and becomes bearable after the half point of the game
