Control your iconic raptor through an endless assortment of procedurally generated landscapes and outrun the ever-approaching WALL OF DOOM. How is DX different than previous versions of the game?
If you've only played the web version from years ago, you'll find DX is a dramatic improvement with more levels, hats, and gameplay options. If you've played Dino Run SE, the major differences right now are completely redone backgrounds and an extra layer of polish, true fullscreen mode, controller support, Steamworks integration, improved multiplayer security, and a few more hats and colors to choose from. We are also currently working on even more improvements to the game and will continue to roll out new features as long as there is interest and support. This is our pledge to you! Okay, so I'm not going to sugarcoat it, this review is a bit biased.
Originally released in 2008 as a Flash game, Dino Run DX is an updated re-release with added content, well still remaining a relatively small file size. You play as a dinosaur and you're running from your impending doom through various levels where you can collect bones and eggs for points and unlockables. Simple on paper, but very addictive when you try to grind your time lower and lower with each run.
As someone who has played and grew up on the original Flash game, this is a special treat to see. Customizing your dino, running alongside friends in multiplayer, even turning off the chasing doom to just relax and explore the simplistic, yet wonderful stages.
Yes, it's not the best game ever made, and it's not for everyone. But this game came out at the right time in my life, my childhood, and found it's way back into my life as an adult. It's like rediscovering a small part of my past again, and I love every second of it.
