Disciple 3 is one of those games, which you just have to play 'one more turn'. It has a lot more strategy to it than it will first appear, when you first start playing, which you will pick up on as you progress. Overall I really enjoyed the game, and feel that if you like these type of games, especially in a fantasy setting, you will almost certainly put this in your top list.
For those who have never played a Disciples game, it is a turn based strategy game, in the vein of Heroes of might & Magic, or Kings Bounty. The fighting system is very similar to card battlers, but without using cards (At least that's how I see it, perhaps some won't agree with that synopsis). ie./ Your soldiers have individual skills which can be used strategically from either the front or back row. You have to kill any soldier on the front row, before you can attack those on the back row, unless you have some type of ranged attack. There is a bit more to it, but that is the basics of battling.
The world map plays out the same as other turn-based strategy games, where you have a certain amount of movement, and must gain cities, as well as resources and other strategic building types along the way, Your cities have an influence range, which grows as you get more power/growth, and anything in that influence will give its resources to your each turn. You can increase the size of your land type/influence, by other ways too, though oft times you will need to fight to keep tactical influence points.
As mentioned before, there is more to the game, including races (with different soldier types), ranks which your individual soldiers can attain to transform them into more powerful versions (usually with a choice of subclass types for each), In your cities you can build different buildings which grant you various benefits, or new soldier types (most of these buildings can also be upgraded to new versions, which let you upgrade the soldier/benefit they give you.)
