About Driftland: The Magic Revival

About this game

Explore a procedurally generated world and connect floating lands to expand your kingdom with your Driftland: The Magic Revival Steam PC key. In this adventure sim, you take on the role of a Mage Overlord with unique powers - and with your own castle, tower, and a small realm on one of the landmasses.

DARK TIMES
After a devastating war between ancient mages, a powerful spell is all that holds together the shattered planet of Driftland. Faced with the destruction of their entire civilization and life on the planet, the warring factions called a truce and tried to repair the damage – but it was already too late. By using all their remaining magic to cast a powerful spell, they managed to keep their world in relative balance.

Many dark ages passed, but when all seemed lost, a ray of hope emerged once more: new sources of magic appeared, and new mages were given birth to across the planet. Now, as the dormant conflicts once again surface, this rediscovered power will determine whether Driftland is restored to its former glory or wiped from the cosmos entirely.

BUILD YOUR KINGDOM
Gameplay focuses on setting general goals for all your units without the need to micromanage each of them. The warriors, archers, and mages under your command are able to tame and ride different kinds of flying beasts and create various aerial units.

YOUR OFFICIAL DRIFTLAND: THE MAGIC REVIVAL STEAM PC KEY INCLUDES:

  • Procedurally generated world.
  • Resource- and magic-based economy.
  • Move and terraform scattered landmasses with magic.
  • Tame and ride dragons and other creatures.
  • Explore and fight on the same map.
  • Set goals instead of directly controlling units.
  • Single-player, campaigns, and multiplayer.

Good RTS to give a shot

Liked the game: like most RTS games that I've played - get resources, upgrade "kingdom" (think that's what you'd call this?), conquer map. Somewhat slow gameplay for some but makes up with satisfying outcomes :)

If you enjoy Majesty, you might also enjoy this game.

If you enjoy Majesty, you might also enjoy this game. It has the element of "free will" for your heroes, and you can set markers for them to explore by paying for them. One notable difference is that the markers are not often ignored, so you have more control over your heroes. The way missions are set up is more like an RTS, with the goal of attacking the enemy base. Collecting islands to expand your empire is a unique feature, and the game has attractive graphics. As a big fan of Majesty, I enjoyed the similarities and am having a good time with the game so far. However, I do have a minor complaint that the RTS formula doesn't work well with a game that doesn't allow direct control of units.

Nice casual strategy game (with multiplayer for more fun) - Recommend to buy when on sale

A nice casual strategy game you can distract yourself with, or play with friends to add more fun. Although the game is neither the newest nor the first one you'd probably think about when choosing an strategy game, you might as well give it a try. When it's on sale, could be a cool deal.

Bought this game on sale for about 6 bucks and it's definitely worth that. Not sure whether I would have paid the full price for it, but I recommend to get it on sale. The idea of the game is a nice one. There are different characters to play as (Dark elf, wild elf, human and dwarfs) that all play a little different and have certain special "powers". You can play singleplayer freeplay and campaign. There is also a multiplayer (it's a bit comfusing because you one player has to create a game with a password, the other one has to type in the password FIRST in order to even find the game). There is a tutorial at the beginning of every game you start but you can skip them if you want to. Even though I am a fan of this kind of game already where you build a town or something, this is special in it's own way. You have to connect the islands to build your land and there is always something to do even if you are not building because you can use manna to do spells in the meantime. Since there is also a limited amount of islands, the playthrough has to end at some point (when you connected all the isplands and built a functioning economy), there really is no point to continue after that. I personally like it better this way because I regularly find myself getting bored if you have "won" the game but there is still map to discorver an claim (Anno for example) but there isn't really anything left to really do with it. If you are a fan of building and fantasy then I recommend you pick this up in sale and giev it a try.
