Decent but reliant on a grindy extraction loop.

It's a decent enough game that tries to blend the excitement of opening up card game packs, with a traditional dungeoncrawler structure. The main game loop is as such: You delve into dungeons, hoping to either kill the boss or escape with your loot. Loot will be lost on death so sometimes, it's a better call to just extract. After each run, you can open booster packs and modify your deck. On the upside, this really fixes a lot of struggles with traditional RNG systems. On the downside, your early runs will consist of a lot of runs ending with escaping, which can be a bummer. If you don't mind doing constant extractions to gain enough cards to build a proper deck - this is a fun title.

Lovely game with cute animations. The 5 card archetypes are fun to play with and especially when you start combining them. You can find trinkets which can have powerful chaining effects with your play style. Play it right and you basically become an unstoppable force. The story itself is simple yet fitting. The NPC interactions are short but still nice. Dungeons are always randomly generated and scale with your power level (seen as when beating a dungeon) which makes you power creeping less likely, unless you've discovered the trick for each card deck type. The real fun is in combining archetypes. What I dislike is the way the character can't move smoothly in the non-dungeon world. Since all "turns" are based on action point the movement is on a per step basis. This is fine in dungeons and combat but it gets annoying to move around town in the same manner. You should definitely get this game when it's on sale and have fun with deck building.
