About ELDEN RING

About this game

Elden Ring has won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022!

ELDEN RING is an award-winning title even before its release; as the proud holder of 2020 and 2021's Most Anticipated Game title in The Game Awards and numerous others, along with a rating of 95 on Metacritic, ELDEN RING needs little introduction.

A title built by FromSoftware, explore the soulslike genre in a brand-new setting with ELDEN RING's innovative open-world map and FromSoftware's titular difficulty; fans of the soulslike genre should not miss this one. Along with that, the game's open-world setting gives for numerous entry points and works as a perfect candidate to get newcomers started on the infamous genre.

Explore the Lands Between

Ride atop Torrent — the brand-new steed and main form of travel — and relish on the Lands Between. Explore five unique regions, each filled with unique mobs to overcome, plenty of dungeons to venture into, and countless bosses to defeat. No matter where you look and what you do, the Lands Between has something for you to uncover.

Exciting Soulslike Combat

Experience FromSoftware's titular soulslike combat unlike never before. Charge head-on with heavy armour that is impenetrable to most blades, cast magic from afar, or even run in nearly naked; the options are endless. Choose from 10 different classes, each with intended builds that will offer a unique experience, and fight as a mage, a faith caster, a quick fighter, or a heavy brute; the choice is yours.

Fight Gargantuan Bosses

The Lands Between doesn't come without its perilous bosses famous to the soulslike franchise. Every corner is a potential arena, and you never know when you will encounter one of the 100+ bosses to face. Fight grafted monstrosities, dragons, and even the strongest FromSoftware boss yet — Malenia, Blade of Miquella. Each triumph is a glory to behold, and each encounter is as unique as the last.

Tackle Bosses with Friends or Battle Other Players

Join co-op parties to help other players face the toughest of bosses, or test your mettle against other players in ELDEN RING's co-op. Suffer the invasion of other players that will try to foil your experience and prove your worth against their blade; may the best Tarnished survive. The difficulty and fun never end with the game's co-op experience.

Enjoy Soulslike At Its Best

2022's runner-up for Game of the Year, ELDEN RING is the soulslike genre at its best. FromSoftware's difficulty continues skyrocketing, but so do the scores, as it is the company's best-rated game yet. Both veterans and newcomers to the genre are sure to enjoy each gruelling minute to survive in the Lands Between.

I have only briefly played the game so far due to lack of time, but it's really an amazing game and hands down the best From Soft game I've played so far, greatly improving elements from the Dark Souls trilogy specifically as well as adding new elements to make one of the best open world games I've played in a while.

I have tried to get into every Dark Souls, as well as Sekiro. Something about the depressing atmosphere always puts me off, plus the routine punishment, means I have never gone more than 10 hours or first few bosses. Elden Ring stands in pure contrast. Sure, everything is dead or dying, but it looks ALIVE. Further, there's so much to do, hitting a wall feels like an exciting opportunity to go off the beaten path. Cannot recommend this enough, especially on Steam Deck.

Absolutely loving this mesmerizing universe. I was on the fence because I had never played a 'Soulsborne' game before, but I took the leap and I'm glad I did. It is, of course, a VERY difficult and sometimes frustrating game, but I've found the challenge and the satisfaction of defeating a difficult boss, very rewarding. The game may not be state-of-the-art graphics-wise, but the atmosphere and characters are truly amazing.

This is some of FromSoftware's best work to date. A great and engaging open world with some great setpiece's. The game feels challenging but fair in terms of combat, and there is a lot to learn and keep track of. Overall, a fantastic introduction to FromSoftware if you haven't played one of their games.

It's one of the best games of all time in the Action RPG Genre. It's less of an RPG in the traditional sense, since your role is pretty set from the get go as a Tarnished who travels around the Lands Between. Your choices affect the NPCs questlines and the ending itself, but even though the multiple endings are different, they aren't really unique or massively change anything. All of them are different in interpretation besides one of them (Stars Ending, you should google it because you won't get it otherwise) which I won't spoil. It's a difficult game, but it doesn't feel unfair. As its predecessors before it, you won't be disappointed.

After rave reviews and impressive videos, screenshots, and Game of the Year hype I decided to try this game out especially seeing it was on sale. Having beaten Dark Souls II about 6 years previously I felt right at home with the combat but the world around was a whole new experience. Massive world and incredible visuals. The most gigantic and terrifying bosses you have ever seen. It's all a dream come true for serious gamers. As soon as I started with the character creation all I could think of was how I was going to regret it later. Afterall you know that in a souls game you want to explore and experiment before taking a character too seriously. You want to create the ultimate build or end up in the dog house. This is all part of the fun. No longer are we playing Adventure on the Atari 2600 where your character is a block. Did not take long to see my face kicked in and my ego bruised just in the first few minutes. I'm having a blast. The open world, gameplay, and everything you wanted in a souls game that could make it perfect. Being a gamer for over 40 decades this is an exciting time to be alive. I was expecting a good souls game and instead I am witnessing the ultimate gaming experience. From Ultima to Baldurs Gate to Final Fantasy VII to Morrowind to every RPG I have ever played I think this is the most mind blowing experience yet!

At first..locked at 60 fps.no ultra wide support..althought i play max settings(5900x,3080ti,firecuda 530,wolverine v2 etc..)graphics are outdated..open world?hmmm...a bit open playground with some bosses to defeat(IF you execute your attacks and guards perfectly),enemies respawning after you die(i am sitting in front of my screen and laughing seeing the same soldiers..again..and again),no objective, hollow characters...not even compare that thing with Skyrim or gothic 2 and 3..main character is clumsy and slow..like a 65 year old wearing armor...dark souls 3 was a far better experience...

Starting with what I did NOT like. I cleared most of the bosses in the game and they ended up getting repetitive, some bosses feel like they were used at least 5 if not more times. Open world in general isn't something I really care about so I didn't like that very much either. I found myself wandering around finding nothing and having no idea where to go. At least previous games you only had so many paths so this wasn't an issue. Horse was meh. It was neat to be able to climb up things, but a ladder would have been just fine. Also to me it controlled horribly and even in situations where I was probably supposed to use the horse in a fight I found myself avoiding it. What I did like. The main bosses and the first time you encountered bosses was usually a great experience. Having played DS1 and DS3 it was expected that I would get destroyed on my first attempts at a boss, but steadily saw myself improve. Toward the end of the game I was really in the swing of things and most bosses only took about 5 tries, but they were always fun to see. This actually does bring up a negative, I one shot multiple bosses so the whole experience of improving was gone, not to mention missing some of the crazy fights I saw other people do. I understand not being able to repeat bosses, but for me one shotting a boss is actually pretty disappointing knowing you won't be able to see the whole fight unless you play ng+ or start a new character.
