About Elden Ring

About this game

Elden Ring has won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022!

ELDEN RING is an award-winning title even before its release; as the proud holder of 2020 and 2021's Most Anticipated Game title in The Game Awards and numerous others, along with a rating of 95 on Metacritic, ELDEN RING needs little introduction.

A title built by FromSoftware, explore the soulslike genre in a brand-new setting with ELDEN RING's innovative open-world map and FromSoftware's titular difficulty; fans of the soulslike genre should not miss this one. Along with that, the game's open-world setting gives for numerous entry points and works as a perfect candidate to get newcomers started on the infamous genre.

Explore the Lands Between

Ride atop Torrent — the brand-new steed and main form of travel — and relish on the Lands Between. Explore five unique regions, each filled with unique mobs to overcome, plenty of dungeons to venture into, and countless bosses to defeat. No matter where you look and what you do, the Lands Between has something for you to uncover.

Exciting Soulslike Combat

Experience FromSoftware's titular soulslike combat unlike never before. Charge head-on with heavy armour that is impenetrable to most blades, cast magic from afar, or even run in nearly naked; the options are endless. Choose from 10 different classes, each with intended builds that will offer a unique experience, and fight as a mage, a faith caster, a quick fighter, or a heavy brute; the choice is yours.

Fight Gargantuan Bosses

The Lands Between doesn't come without its perilous bosses famous to the soulslike franchise. Every corner is a potential arena, and you never know when you will encounter one of the 100+ bosses to face. Fight grafted monstrosities, dragons, and even the strongest FromSoftware boss yet — Malenia, Blade of Miquella. Each triumph is a glory to behold, and each encounter is as unique as the last.

Tackle Bosses with Friends or Battle Other Players

Join co-op parties to help other players face the toughest of bosses, or test your mettle against other players in ELDEN RING's co-op. Suffer the invasion of other players that will try to foil your experience and prove your worth against their blade; may the best Tarnished survive. The difficulty and fun never end with the game's co-op experience.

Enjoy Soulslike At Its Best

2022's runner-up for Game of the Year, ELDEN RING is the soulslike genre at its best. FromSoftware's difficulty continues skyrocketing, but so do the scores, as it is the company's best-rated game yet. Both veterans and newcomers to the genre are sure to enjoy each gruelling minute to survive in the Lands Between.

I have only briefly played the game so far due to lack of time, but it's really an amazing game and hands down the best From Soft game I've played so far, greatly improving elements from the Dark Souls trilogy specifically as well as adding new elements to make one of the best open world games I've played in a while.

A good game if you're used to Dark Souls, a hellish learning curve if you're not.

Well it's obviously hard, no surprise there. What did surprise me is the complete lack of explanations and directions. I've never had to google how to do stuff in a game so much. If I had to guess I would say I have at least one google search per hour of playtime. The game also booted up on my PC with the xbox tooltips on which seems like a huge oversight in QA. The video settings don't function properly either. I had to change a hidden file just to get it into borderless windowed mode.

Didnt like it. Bad controls, buggy quests, broken AI. This game is the Donald Trump of video games.

Boring

I think this game is honestly kind of boring. There isn't any objectives in the game and there's no real plot progression. What this game really is, is just an open world game with no point and just bosses to beat. I feel like the lack of story and objective makes this game feel so boring and unexciting to play. The graphics look very gray/green and there's nothing new in this game besides it being open world.

Absolutely loving this mesmerizing universe. I was on the fence because I had never played a 'Soulsborne' game before, but I took the leap and I'm glad I did. It is, of course, a VERY difficult and sometimes frustrating game, but I've found the challenge and the satisfaction of defeating a difficult boss, very rewarding. The game may not be state-of-the-art graphics-wise, but the atmosphere and characters are truly amazing.

This is some of FromSoftware's best work to date. A great and engaging open world with some great setpiece's. The game feels challenging but fair in terms of combat, and there is a lot to learn and keep track of. Overall, a fantastic introduction to FromSoftware if you haven't played one of their games.

A good game for someone willing to wait for a patch, or do some DIY fixes

The world and everything in it are wonderfully designed, and combat is as solidly 'soulsy' as ever. However the PC port is sorely lacking, and I would only recommend this if you are willing to do a few weird fixes found with a bit of googling, or if you have a high tolerance for stuttering/freezing. Some new mechanics are decidedly meh, not moving me one way or the other. The crafting system adds nothing to the game to me, and I found it unnecessary.

It's good, well deserved GOTY.

It's one of the best games of all time in the Action RPG Genre. It's less of an RPG in the traditional sense, since your role is pretty set from the get go as a Tarnished who travels around the Lands Between. Your choices affect the NPCs questlines and the ending itself, but even though the multiple endings are different, they aren't really unique or massively change anything. All of them are different in interpretation besides one of them (Stars Ending, you should google it because you won't get it otherwise) which I won't spoil. It's a difficult game, but it doesn't feel unfair. As its predecessors before it, you won't be disappointed.
