About Equilinox

About this game

Equilinox is a relaxing nature game which allows you to create and nurture your very own diverse ecosystem of plants and animals. Sit back, start growing, and watch your world blossom and evolve in front of you!

Create

You can start creating your ecosystems by placing plants and animals into your world. Having a variety of plants and trees will make the terrain more fertile and allow wildlife to flourish, while animals will begin to earn you points which can be used to purchase various in-game resources.

Nurture

Every animal and plant has its own life-cycle, unique behaviors and requirements, so you need to ensure that each species is satisfied with its environment, has enough resources, and that the ecosystems are balanced. Healthy, happy animals will live longer, breed more, and earn you more points.

Evolve

The points you earn can also be used to genetically modify your species, allowing you to manipulate the traits and behaviors of your species for various benefits. You can also evolve your current wildlife to unlock more exotic plants, trees and creatures.

Progress

There are multiple in-game tasks that can be completed to gain rewards such as extra diversity points or new content. Some tasks can be repeated, making it possible to farm certain plants and animals to receive a regular income of diversity points.

Get Creative!

Equilinox also has a fully sandbox mode where you can place as many plants and animals as you like, plus you can genetically modify them to your heart's content! Create swarms of super fast pink wolves, high bouncing rainbow sheep, pixel art made from colored mushrooms, beautiful low-poly scenes, or anything else that you can think of. The possibilities are endless!

If you are looking for a nice relaxing experience that you can play in the background with cute graphics, then this might be for you. This game plays more like a virtual aquarium, than fully fleshed out ecosystem game like sim earth. The difficulty is on the easier side, but the joy in this game comes from experimentation and balancing the different parts of the ecosystem to coexist with each other. Definitely worth it as a casual experience. Would recommend.

A surprisingly complex game worthy of a see. If you can get it cheap all the better. It consists of setting up terrains and species and upgrading them to yet more terrain and species. A lot of fun to learn about evolution in the most basic sense. I only wish it could be modded and/or had a terrain editor. Maybe the next one.

Good idea and relaxing to play with

Nice little game

You start on a barren world and with a bit of grass turf. From there, you create biomes, with plants and soon animals. Then tweaking traits such as size and color, you can watch your world evolving. Very nice little game, quite relaxing and the soundtrack is perfect for this genre.

Super chill game to play when you want to relax There is still an element of calculation and planning as you try to grow and increase your access to more seeds, animals, etc Very low stress to the game, and I play it once in a while just to relax and watch things grow. Love this game when you don't need super high energy and focus. Music, setting, and art are all very plesant

Playing through the "storyline" is a lot of waiting and buying one or two items at a time and hoping they do what you need them to. However, I went into free mode and bred pink sheep that jump so high they nearly go orbital and THAT was worth the dollar I paid for the game when it was bundled.
