About Foxhole

About this game

Winner of the top 100 indie of 2016 and #1 indie of 2017 in Indie DB, Foxhole pits the player against the player in a full-scale war like never before. Face off against thousands of other soldiers — each controlled by an individual player — in order to gain control of areas and build bases to manufacture weapons for your army.

Player Directed Warfare

Face against thousands of soldiers to simulate the battlefield. Strategize with your troop to make the perfect plan and have as few casualties as possible. Invade enemy bases, break apart the frontline, and set up a base to manufacture weapons and make sure your army has a great supply; war isn't only won by armaments, but by good supply lines and cooperation. Take part in the hectic combat or arm your soldiers by manufacturing the guns; everyone plays an important role.

Persistent Living World

In an alternate timeline where wars never ended, you're a soldier in one of the armies trying to conquer the world. You and your troop must form long-term strategies that can take days in planning in order to conquer enemy territories. Make sure to leave soldiers behind to guard it, however, because you might lose it the following night, as Foxhole presents players with high-stakes combat.

Realistic Tactics & Combat

In war, your worth isn't defined by your experience or stats, but by your mettle, and Foxhole acknowledges that. Join the battle and use your wits together with your skill to overcome the enemy and gain the upper hand with your troop; nothing matters more than your own skill. Set up supply lines to keep your frontline well-equipped, and charge enemy territories in the night to gain the upper hand; scout the battlefield well, for even the terrain can be the difference between life and death, victory and defeat.

Simulation of world war 1 in good and bad

Average game enjoyer
Verified purchase
Foxhole is an interesting simulation style shooter about world war 1. Everything is player driven from manufacturing the first bullet of the war to the final push to capture/destroy the enemy base. Then it all starts anew. While this is a strength of the game as nothing needs to be unlocked, it is difficult to achieve anything by yourself, especially due to atrocious shooting controls and slowness of building anything. Foxhole is a simulation in good and bad. With numbers you can achieve much and alone very little. To achieve things many players will have to participate in mind-numbingly boring things like ferrying resources to the front. While the game is certainly an interesting experience, this dedication to simulating being a tiny cog in the machine also turns me off from dedicating much time for it.

I’ve been bored of every new title, every popular game. They don’t feel fun anymore, played them alone, got bored, played them with friends, got bored. Maybe I had just grown up. No more fun to be had in gaming, but then… my good friend said: “Check out foxhole, it looks pretty good!” So I did and this game has ignited a new flame in me. This game has shown that even when you don’t like anything there is still something… out there… a hidden gem, ready to be collected. This is one of those gems. It’s a war game about times back on ww2. It’s dynamic always something going on, Even when you go to sleep there are people out there on the field fighting for their nation. Every soldier is a player, every item in the game is man made. Jump in and fight for your freedom, fight for the right cause. I’ve met some people on this game that I can say with certainty is now my friend. I’m willing to run and risk my life on the battlefield for any one of them and I know that they would do the same for me. This game is amazing, the graphics are actually good, a lot of content. Great game overall. Buy it, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing! It is difficult in beggining to learn how to play and all mechanics, but that feeling when you save someone all push with other players through enemy defense and every bullet can kill you. It is unforgettable experience.
