The game lacks instructions and information. I really struggled to get a hang of this game because i wasn't able to find food, struggled for a while until i kinda understood what to do.
Eventually i recruted a second character and thought i finally had a foot in the game - until one of my characters randomly died. There was no particular reason why (it was winter but his warmth was good?) and the game never bothered to let me know either. Well, too bad but life has to go on for my other hobo. Sadly, without a fighting partner, many of the enemies/ scripted fights were too much for my leftover guy and i couldn't progress. There wasn't an option to recruit another peroson so i was stuck. I tried to make my guy stronger to maaaaaybe have a chance eventually, but no, he too dies eventually without any real reason.
The game wants to be more than it realistically can be - survival game, resource management, auto battler, simulation game, etc. - but none of these are fully fleshed out and seem bare and unfinished. The majority of this game consists of watching your dude(s) train or fight with others. None of the fights are really interesting to watch, neither is life in the base.
The map is kinda cool and there is a "story" to it that i never got to see much of. A further frustration is that in many locations there are things that have to be unlocked by specific items that you apparently can get in random fights. In the 4 hours i played, i have never even gotten a single one. This leaves many locations unfinished and likely a bunch of amazing loot out of reach...
The game also has it's fair share of bugs, some more or less gamebreaking than others.
I don't see any reason to start this game over since apparently your charactes can just die randomly and without reason. No need for me to repeat struggling and eventually failing anyways.
