This is a game that revolves entirely on the player's reaction time and capability to maintain momentum, which demonstrates its clear and well defined objective, patent in its various aspects, from enemy placement to platforming.
And the levels are always designed with several different recognizable paths to dispatch off the enemies more efficiently. This design offers enough freedom for the player to take various alternative approaches, taking into account each one's own preferences, but also the different powers offered throughout the campaign, that allow for further experimentation even within a same level segment.
It is definitely a frustrating game at times because of its difficulty, but in equal terms rewarding when you can finally crack your best strategy to continue to the next area, as you further understand the patterns and timings of all the mechanics, all through a completely smooth and immersive first-person experience and wrapped around a stylized cyberpunk setting that gets richer the more you delve deeper into the story.

in Ghostrunner you play as a cybernetic ninja, and who doesnt want to play as a badass ninja that can wallrun, dodge bullets in slow-mo time, grapple across huge gaps and destroy enemies in seconds with special abilities.
However the aspect of this game that I did not expect was that it is a 1-hit kill type game, it is what I would call a "hardcore" game, and everything relies on your skills to survive.
There's nothing wrong with this formula for a game but I found that sometimes my abilities or my actions did not register in time despite it feeling as if I had reacted in time and this made it very infuriating to play the game at times, but these moments are seemingly minimal, it could also be that I missed some actions by milliseconds making it look like I reacted in time when I did not.
However if you like feeling like a badass, parkouring cyber-ninja then this is the game for you.

A very fine fast-paced action game. Has quite interesting story, gameplay is very smooth, game is focused on timing and combat is very pro-active. Customisation is quite small, but impactful and can drastically change the way you approach combat. Levels are a bit complicated, with multiple ways to finish them, boss fights are pretty hard and challenging. It is also very frustrating game, as you will fail, most likely quite a lot too.

Difficulty - 10/10 or 1/10 depending on you (this is a tough game but so worth it when you clear the stage)
Graphics - 10/10 (beautiful ultrawide display support, it looks incredible in ultrawide)
Controls - 10/10 (extremely easy to use but VERY difficult to master the timing)
Story - 5/10 (lame cheesy story)
Repetitive - 7/10 (just a lot of parkour, i wish there were more crazy things)

I really love what I've gotten to play of the game. Great visuals and art design, plays very intuitively, and lots of fun. It's a very fast paced game though, and I finished every level feeling drained and exhausted from the adrenaline rushes if caused for me. XD I'd probably describe it as an intuitive/easy to learn, but hard to master sort of game. It also had keyboard lighting integration with Steelseries RGB keyboards it seems, nearly gave me a heart attack when I first started the game up as it plunged my room into darkness and I thought my keyboard died before the new lighting scheme activated. XD
