Background

About Ghostwire: Tokyo

About this game

Developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks.

Tokyo is in the midst of catastrophe, as all of the residents have vanished into thin air. Take control of Akito Izuki, a 22-year-old student who was on the brink of death when the supernatural occurrence happened, and experience as he finds out that a mysterious shadow, who goes by the name of KK, saved him... as long as he can protect Tokyo from this supernatural threat.

Embark on a Rescue Mission

Take control of Akito and harness KK's supernatural abilities in order to save Mari, Akito's sister. Amid the chaos, you'll experience numerous supernatural threats that stand in your way, and it'll be up to you to use everything in your arsenal to ensure Akito's success.

Explore Modern-day Tokyo in Open-world Exploration

Venture into the streets of Tokyo with its high-tech skyscrapers and explore a setting not commonly seen in open-world titles. Jump up into the rooftops to explore the desolate city, fight back the Yōkai threat, and save your sister.

A Yōkai Threat

Explore a world overtaken by the fierce Yōkai and use KK's power to dispatch them however necessary. Engage in first-person shooting and fast-paced action as you use the elements, different weapons, gadgets, and upgrades to increase your strength and trivialize the Visitors' advancements. Meet some of the most famous Yōkai from Japanese lore, such as the Tengu, Kappa, and many more, and battle equally-unique foes, such as the Marionettes, Lamentation, Paper Dolls, and many more chill-inducing foes.

Neat little untraditional FPS/RPG

A good completion to my Tango Gameworks collection. It plays like a strange first-person shooter, and has an engaging story. Get ready too blast some funky ghosts. The only problem I seem to run into, is that it seems blurry no matter what settings I use, and I can't seem to figure out why.

This game has very flashy visuals and the neo-noir tokyo vibe is juicy! I recommend this game for anyone who likes surreal and somewhat creepy games with great visuals and a very japan-feel.

Great game so far. Great to gain some more knowledge regarding japanese lore. Some missions get a little repetitive, but it's normal. I've been loving it.
