About Grow: Song of the Evertree

About this game

Over time, the Worlds of Alaria faded. The Evertree – where many worlds resided on its countless branches – is now nothing more than a sapling, its splendor long erased from memory. No one knows how to make it grow. But you are different. You hear the sun as it sings across the sky. You hear the language of rain against the earth. You are the last of the Everheart Alchemists and it is your ancestral task and privilege to care for the Evertree.

Discover a Vibrant Unique World… at Your Own Pace

Find unique places, blooming with fantastic fauna and flora as you are encouraged to explore this beautiful world at your own pace. How do you want to spend your time? Exploring caves and solving puzzles, collecting minerals and flowers, fishing or catching bugs … it’s up to you!

Grow You Own Worlds!

Learn to craft World Seeds through Alchemy to generate totally new worlds with unique characteristics. Tend those worlds to rejuvenate them and see how they change, and watch as new properties emerge before your very eyes! Amazing! The music, art style, environment, sound effects, colors, et cetera all blend for a soft, kind, peaceful experience. The player-character system is gender inclusive, affording a non-binary choice. The player-character's guides, Book and Coppertop, will refer to a non-binary character as them and they in the third-person and by name when speaking directly. Best of all, you play at your own pace! There is no penalty for neglecting tasks for other tasks or exploring the environment. Of course, neglecting tasks delays progress. Though, I have found that managing tasks on my own terms works perfectly well.

Cute, heartwarming game that's great for a relaxing time after work/school

This game is enjoyable and adorable, and I find it's great for when I'm feeling stressed or like I just need some wholesome feels for the day. There are definitely bugs (like quests not completing if they come after you've already done what it's asking) and some poor design choices (like not allowing you to transfer townmembers between districts, and there being minimal onboarding/tutorials for some aspects), but it is a relaxing game that I know I'll be sinking more hours into, especially as exam season hits me. The story progress I make warms my heart as I watch my efforts slowly destroy the corruption plaguing the great big tree. My favourite part: all animals are cuddle-able or catch-able and the camera mode also includes many emotes. My least favourite part: it's important to visit your tree seeds early in the day, because if it hits night while you're in the branches you get automatically teleported down to the ground.

This game is so good I even bought a physical copy for my Switch. I still haven’t played on the Switch but it runs really well on Pc. If you like Yonder you will like this one too ☺️
