Build Your Leader

In HUMANKIND, you'll be able to create your own leader, including their personality type, appearance, clothes and colours, and more. Your avatar will accompany you throughout your quest, though you'll also be able to send it off to your friends — including in-depth gaming persona chosen by you — so that they may fight against your avatar in their own games.

Become Famous

HUMANKIND's single purpose is to become the most famous empire in history. To accomplish this goal, you'll need to take advantage of the single win condition — fame. Survive through the eras, accomplish great deeds, and show your prosperity, perseverance, and power to earn fame and accumulate the most to win!

An Empire to Span Generations

Gain era stars to unlock new eras and customise your empire more; with six eras to choose from — the Ancient Era, Classical Era, Medieval Era, Early Modern Era, Industrial Era, and Contemporary Era — you'll be able to make a lot of progress and reign through the generations. Get one star to unlock the Ancient Era, and then watch as the price rises to advance in an era, but the prizes increase, too!

Culture Shock!

With each new era, you'll be able to choose from 10 different cultures, such as the Ancient Era cultures, Zhou, Assyrian, Babylonian, Egyptian, Harappan, Hittite, Mycenaean,  Nubian, Olmec, Phoenician! With six eras to choose from and 10 cultures per era, you'll have over 60 cultures to pick from, each with unique abilities, districts, and units!

A Traditional or Modern Empire

With each new era you'll unlock, you'll be able to choose between using one of the 10 new cultures or transcending your culture from one era to another. Although you'll sacrifice military and technological advancements, you'll earn more fame!

Create Your History

Each new decision you make will shape the effects of the game entirely! Use the diplomacy system to sign treaties, grow trading relationships, or start wars. Build cities from large, sprawling metropolises to smaller but more cities throughout the map. Whether you play as a pacifist or wage war on the world, grow your religion or focus on your culture, or build bigger cities or smaller towns, your empire will be truly unique.

Fame is War

Battling is a big part of HUMANKIND, so you'll need to prepare your empire for it. Explore the overworld, come across other cultures, and then take their land in overworld battles where you'll need to control ground units to gain the upper hand. Use higher ground to gain the advantage, mobilise your units into favourable positions, and either wipe out the enemy forces or take control of their flag to reign victorious!

A Race to Everything

Embark on a space race to set out and control no man's land — the sky. Race to gain the nuclear advantage, gain fame, and complete numerous end conditions to finish the round! How far will you push Humankind?
