Phantom
Lost words is a truly beautiful game. The music is great, the graphics amazing, the voice acting is good as well.
I also enjoyed the story that took place in the diary, it was well done and very innovative gamplay. The story was told in a way that made you feel with the main character, it also showed how differently characters reacted.
Sadly, the bigger part of the game, the part in fantasy land Estoria, was not as good gameplay wise. There are endless cutscenes that you cannot skip, long animations, looping sequences and very boring platforming. While the idea of working with words to change something in the words is really cool, you are very limited in what you can do with it. often you only have ~3 words and the things you can do with them are very repetitive. Then there are also the collectibles, most of the are easy to find but there are some levels where you have to explore each path of a labyrinth to find all of them.
The game definitely overstayed its welcome for me. i enjoyed it at first but the fanatsy story part really annoyed me towards the end. I don't even consider the fantasy story especially well done or creative. Reall sad to say this as i was really looking forward to this game but in the end i was glad when it was over. :/

I adore this side-scroller. Pulls on your heart strings a lot, but once you get back to playing, it is perfect. Maybe a 4.5 out of 5, if only for the unexpected times the story moves to a backstory of sorts.
