To be clear, there is a baseline level of pure RNG when it comes to success. Yes, there is the ability to see patterns forming, making the most of them, and adapting your strategies on the fly (all markers of a good roguelike/rogue-lite IMO) but there is zero skill ceiling in here in terms of movement, skill timing, and those sorts of things. It's a slot machine. So even if you know every combination in the game, there's a level of just needing to get good pulls on your symbols and items as well. That said, it's fun to see a run mature and come together. Getting a really good spin always feels good—thanks dopamine and addictive personalities! The one caveat I'll mention is SteamDeck compatibility. It says it's SteamDeck verified, but (at least at the time of writing) you'll need to pop out to desktop mode once to launch it and set the resolution before it will run properly. Even then, when docked, I have to set it to a proper 16:9 resolution every time I reload the game. Still, not game breaking, takes 5 seconds, and is mostly painless. But if I see that verified badge, I expect it to just launch at the least—and this barely doesn't.

Luck Be a Landlord is now fully released after a significant early access period focused on balance and making the game varied and fun. No two runs will ever be the same, and you can't really plan for what will happen. This will be frustrating for some, but truely allows for a range of gameplay. The accessibility and customization options are nearly unmatched in any other game. Fonts, UI element sizing, speed of animations, sounds, and even the individual colors are picked by you should you want to adjust something. The modding community is healthy and adds even more variety, the achievements are fair and will take some time to get the specific scenarios needed. Additionallly, there is no timer, it's perfect for pick up and play in short bursts. I am constantly hopping between desktop and deck without issue. Absolutely recommend.

Its a little hard to know what everything does and there's a heavy rng factor to this. But it it's simple, runs on steamdeck and has a lot of achievements

I'm in love with this game and have spent hours obsessing over it. I was told to try it because I have a "small" addiction to game slot machines.

RNG is annoying, yes, but there's so many "builds" you can go with that you just can't stop spinning. You can easily lose track of hours with each time going "I'll get it this time for sure". Other than that, there isn't much to it. Worth buying when it's on 25%+ sale tbh.

Lovely minimal game, it's a mixture between slay the spire and a casino slot machine. addecting, fast to play, and tons of fun and replayability!

Luck Be a Landlord is super fun, it's better than playing real slot machines and it has a lot of fun item combinations

Extremely fun and addicting game. I find myself losing many hours playing this game each time. I really enjoyed the game's mechanic of using slots to build a deck. The randomness is somewhat controllable if you plan out a strategy before choosing your item, which I didn't mind. The later levels of the game can get quite challenging though so going in knowing what kind of build is needed.
