Survival Elements

You’re just an everyday ordinary adventurer trying to survive. Literally, as you have to make sure to eat, sleep, drink, and not fight anything you don’t know that you can kill. There are also infectious diseases in the hidden dungeons that you can find, along with some dangerous foes.

Adventure With A Friend

You can explore Aurai with a friend in co-op, both split-screen locally and online. Reach new cities and take on missions together and share the rewards, and you might even help each other survive. Or at least share supplies.

Rebuild Sirocco

You’re not only an adventurer in this game, but a city planner! There’s a refugee camp that needs your tender care thanks to the City Building mechanic. Help people to survive by turning the camp into New Sirocco!

I played the game with a friend, we meet two times up until now. The first three hours were SOOO good, I loved the game and everything about it. It reminded me of Skyrim and the world was fun to explore. The 2 hours on our second meeting were pure HELL. We died once because of a stupid reason, needed to drink badly and went to look for water. When we reached the coast and went to fill our waterskin, we were attacked by a bandid in armour (with shield, good weapon and everything) out of nowhere. Still suffering from our last death (you lose max health when you die, we had like 50% max health left) we died instantly and woke up in some sort of prison without any of our stuff. When we finally made it out again, half our stuff was gone, we had to look for one of the backpacks for 10 minutes because it was not where we died. Again on low health and without most of our things we entered the city/ fortress close to us and promtly ended up in the prison again. Thank you! When we made it out for the second time we woke up on the other side of the map with only one of two backpacks and even less of our stuff. Yay. We decided to go back to the city we started in as it was closest to us, died a few more times because of low health and a HELL OF A LOT of stupid DISEASES that we got wherever. After hours we are now back at the start with slightly more stuff than we started the game with. I can deal with diseases when drinking/ eating uncooked stuff, dealing with hot/ cold weather and whatnot. I am frustrated, however, because none of it is really exaplained to you (we had to f*cking google how to get ridd of indigestion early in game because there was no way to find out in-game). I am frustrated because the game is not challenging but punishing you, taking stuff from you, leaving you with low health and no way to really heal. You can easily end up in a loop of dying and losing stuff (as we did) and basically losing all progress. There is no fun in this, it is just stupid gamedesign. Why play a game that clearly shows just how much it hates you?

This souls-like has some very interesting mechanics, specifically with magic reactions. Rune magic is so inventive, allowing you to actually learn magic by trial and error. There are some combat mechanics that don't always work, but overall I am still enjoying this game immensely.
