In Phantom Brave PC you will play as a 13-year-old girl named Marona who has a special ability to communicate with phantoms. Having lost both of her parents at a young age, Marona lives on the lonely Phantom Isle in the oceanic world of Ivoire with a phantom named Ash.

Marona makes her living as a Chroma - an adventurer for hire - who completes the requests she finds inside Bottlemails that float along the sea. Her ultimate goal is to save enough money to one day buy Phantom Isle, but her abilities have made the locals fearful and suspicious. Still, Marona stays optimistic and follows what her parents told her long ago: “Help people, and someday everyone will start to like you.” Like a subtle wave in the sea, the adventures of Marona and Ash are about to begin.

Phantom Brave PC’s battles take place on an isometric board. Marona commands her phantom allies by confining them to objects on the field - such as trees, grass, rocks, and flowers - which imbues them with special properties. Unlike most tactical role-playing games, characters and objects can be thrown outside of the board for the rest of the battle – all remaining enemies gain a level, so you can trade a large force of weak enemies for a smaller number of stronger ones. How you approach the battlefield is up to you!
