About RAGE® 2

About this game

Grab your RAGE 2 Steam PC key now!

Dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. RAGE 2 brings together two studio powerhouses – Avalanche Studios, masters of open world insanity, and id Software, creators of the first-person shooter – to deliver a carnival of carnage where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything.

STORY

An asteroid has annihilated 80% of the earth’s population, and humanity’s numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule with an iron fist. As Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland and a threat to their power, you have been robbed of your home and left for dead.

Now you’ll have to rage for justice and freedom. With ludicrous vehicle combat, super-powered first-person mayhem, and an open world full of emergent madness, you will tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling sadistic gangs to find the tools and tech needed to crush the oppressive rule of The Authority once and for all.

KEY FEATURES

  • WELCOME TO THE SHOOTERVERSE - id Software’s shooter pedigree and Avalanche Studios’ open world prowess is dream-team-made-real for RAGE 2. It’s more than a shooter, more than an open world game – it’s a shooterverse.
  • THE WASTELAND AWAITS - Seamlessly traverse a vast and varied landscape, from lush jungles and treacherous swamps to sun-scorched deserts in your pursuit of The Authority. The wasteland is massive, and you’ve got the arsenal to fight for every inch.
  • PEDAL TO THE METAL - From monster trucks to gyrocopters, use an assortment of rugged and wasteland-ready vehicles to speed across the badlands. If you see it, you can drive it.
  • THE LAST RANGER - Bring the pain using a collection of upgradable weapons, devastating Nanotrite powers, and Overdrive, the ability to push your guns beyond their mechanical limits.
  • FACTIONS & FOES - Fight against ferocious factions for control of the wasteland, each featuring a rogue’s gallery of madmen, mutants, and monsters hungry for blood.

I really enjoyed my time with this game. This is a great example of a 7/10 game that a lot of people pass on but is worth a second look. If you enjoy games like Far Cry, or you are like me and enjoyed the underappreciated gem that is Homefront: The Revolution, then you'll fall right in for this game. The key difference is just how good the gunplay is once you get most of the abilities. The power trip this game offers when you can just wipe an entire base of enemies while hopping and dashing about at top speed is only exceeded by DOOM Eternal. As far as the main problems with the game, there are a handful. The driving controls are wonky with keyboard and mouse, but not too bad that you can't learn them and make them easier with some keybinds. Also, the game doesn't explain itself well nor does it tell you the "best" way to play the game. Look at some "before you play" guides online to inform yourself of the games systems and you'll jump in knowing some of what to do and you'll have a better time. Anyway, I played all that Rage 2 had to offer. I got the Deluxe Edition for $16 and then paid an extra $20 for some RAGE 2 Coins to get the Terrormania DLC pack. Terrormania is worth $5 for sure, but the other stuff in the pack isn't. Either way, I feel like I got excellent value for my money. If you like open world shooters, then you owe it to yourself to pick up this game on sale and give it a chance.

After Just Now Completing This Game On The Steam Deck, I can Tell You This - The Game Mechanics Should Be Updated With The AI, The Game Settings Are Whack, When Using The Difficulty Settings, Like Most Games When You Use Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme, You Can Tell The Differences In All Game Settings, So The Way I Noticed The Difficulty Settings from The Start Is This, I Am A Player Of Extreme Difficulty Settings, And From The Hardest Settings, I Noticed Off The Bat, It Focuses On How Many Hit-Ratio Counters You Receive During Combat, Instead Of How The AI, You, Surroundings, Interact Around You As Well As Counter Hits, That Said, The As You Change The Settings, NOTHING Changes, The ONLY Thing That Changes During Difficulty Changes, Is How Many Hits You Receive.. So Even On Easy Settings, It's Literally The Same, EXTREME, But You Encounter Less Hit Counts, Resulting In Less Annoying Repeats Of Bad Implementations Of CheckPoints Given To You, The Ideology Would Have Been Great, Had They Given You QuickSave Options, Instead Treat The Game As A CheckPoint Console Game. So You'll Consistently Have To Repeat Cutsences After Cutscenes After Each Quick Death You Encounter On The Hardest Setting. So In Reality, There Is No Point In Changing Your Difficulty Settings On First Time Game Play, Rather Play Around With Them Once You Defeated The Storyline First Time Around, This Is Same Results As Side-Quests, Most Are Boring And Have No Real Benefit To Your Storyline, Mostly Just Good After You Are Done Beating The StoryLine, The StoryLine Is Great, Does This Feel Like Rage? NO! This Is More Of A RedLine Reboot Feel To It, Than That Of A Rage Sequel Feel. Is It Worth The Retail Price Point? NO! Get This Game On Discount, It's Still A Game Game With The Issues To The Side, Great Game On Discount. Plays Decent On Steam Deck, However.. To Get The Game Booted Up In Gaming Mode, Go To Desktop, Launch The Game There, And Disable Full-Screen, Boot Back Into Gaming Mode, Play It, The Game Plays At A Certain Resolution That The Steam Deck Does Not Recognize.

Not a bad game. But get it at a super sale. Shooting is pretty standard, cant go wrong The story and gameplay got kind of boring reel quik. It still had some annoying bugs but the worst part is the way of life things. Like upgrades, travel, driving sucks, unlocking things, crafting will slow you down a lot. I had to x2 speed some parts of this game to make it better.

RAGE 2 Review

Sam Jones
Staff Review
With deadly, unforgiving wastelands to explore, RAGE 2's chaotic 'shooterverse' will have players fighting for survival in a single-player Mad Max-esque world. This first-person shooter will see players go up against mutants, rival tribes and the Authority from the original RAGE game, with a unique roster of guns, melee weapons and customizable vehicles. If you love open-world adventures, great narrative and bloody carnage - RAGE 2 needs to be on your must-play for 2019!
