"Redout 2 is brutal, beautiful, and insanely fast. This is the first anti-grav racing sim, and we didn’t even have to wait until 2048 to get started."

"A love letters to antigrav fans everywhere. I miss the option of sending a missile to the rear end of other ships, but the driving is pure poetry."

Probably one of the best arcade racers/anti-gravity racers out there. In an already niche genre it's always nice to see something new and interesting and this game definitely fulfills that. The moment to moment gameplay is amazing as well as the different ships and tracks you have access to. But the one thing that is this games biggest problem is the career mode. A lot of it is fluff and could be condensed down heavily. It took me about 9 hours to complete the first league of the career mode. Just 1 out of 4 took 9 hours and would take more to 100% each challenge. Combine that with the fact that I only had seen tracks from 3 different areas for over half that time and finally got access to a new area near the end of it. Although you can just play the arcade mode and have all the tracks but the main draw to career mode is that you can customize your ships. But there is an issue with that as well considering you can't bring your custom ships into online or the arcade mode until it has a high enough power level/gear score. So in order to have your own personalized ship with custom colors, decals, and individual parts you have to beat the career mode. And the first game was bad with its career mode as well it's just something I wish they had learned from. And really that is the only thing that is bad about this game. Other than that the new system mechanics and track designs are amazing. The feeling of controlling your ship and the speeds that you can go is also amazing. The thing that carries me through the career mode is the gameplay for sure. But also the online functionality is nice and works was surprised some people are playing it the few times I have tried. It's a great game most people looking at it already know if they will love it. But it is a real shame in regards to the sheer level of grind that is present.
