Immersive Racing Experience

Redout is a next-generation AG racing game that combines nostalgic elements of classic games like F-Zero and WipeOut with futuristic driving experiences. The game takes players through breathtaking landscapes from serene coastlines and icy terrains to expansive desert plains, all brought to life with the state-of-the-art Unreal Engine 4. Its immersive semi-abandoned Earth setting adds a unique dystopian edge to the gaming experience.

A Battle of Speed and Control

The game offers much more than traditional competitive racing. Players can feel the rush of zooming at 800km/h, the thrill of overtaking opponents on bendy tracks, and the intensity of colliding with other vehicles. These experiences are further amplified by the physics derived from quad-copters controllers and real magnetic forces that give players superior control over their ship's behaviour, making each race a strategic battle of speed and control.

An Array of Features

The Redout: Enhanced Edition offers an array of features that further enrich the game. It supports online multiplayer racing for up to 12 players, providing an opportunity for competitive play with friends or racers around the globe. With over 100 events to participate in, an optional VR support, a full 5.1 support, and an increasingly dynamic soundtrack that intensifies with speed, players are promised a diverse, super-fast racing world that keeps the adrenaline pumping.

Redout: Enhanced Edition Review

Sam Jones
Staff Review
Fast, hard and extremely impressive, Redout is so much more than a PC copy of futuristic racers like WipE'out" and F-Zero, it's a classic in its own right thanks to the vibrant graphics and intense gameplay.

If you loved the good old Wipeout, this game is what you are searching. Incredibly fast, pretty hard, visually impressive. Futuristic pleasure.

This a fun, challenging, high-speed racing in the same style as F-Zero (Though I haven’t ever played F-Zero so I can’t compare it directly). Compared to other newer games like this, I feel like this one is a bit more interesting and enjoyable, and has some nice multiplayer options that I haven’t been able to try yet. There’s upgrades for each car, though it’s not necessary to pick and choose between them as you can have all the upgrades active at once. There are active and passive powerups, however that you can only have one of each equipped to modify the way your vehicle acts. There are two things I wish were different, however. You only earn money and experience from campaign races, not from quick races or multiplayer, sadly. And campaign races seem to all have one class of vehicle you can use, so unlocking them early or anything doesn’t actually help, as you can’t use them against earlier class opponents. This also means that you’ll need to buy the upgrades for each of the different class of vehicle in order to continue to compete. The different modes don’t have too much variety, really, as you won’t be doing anything differently in them, trying to keep your speed up and stay ahead of the others, no real “combat races” or anything, I don’t think.

Big wipeout fan here, so I was excited to try out the game. After a couple of races, I have a bit of a meh reaction. Tutorial gives some information on how to use special features of the game, but you are left stumbling on buttons to figure out basic mechanism. Why are my opponents boosting? What is energy and how do I use it? How do I regenerate health? I had difficulty winning the first few races. This game will be a good fit for fans of the genre, and it shows that great care was given in creating this experience, but I don't think its great way to introduce new people to futuristic racing.

A true succesor to F-Zero and Wipeout. And that is both good and bad. You'll get awesome space races at breakneck speeds but the difficulty is quite high.
