Possibly my game of the year

RE 4 is the perfect continuation in the modern/remake area of Residence Evil. The game is not only optimized swimmingly, it definitely is a contender for best looking game this year. Shifting from the graphics, the gameplay is TIGHT! This really is everything that made 4 classic fun, but sheds all its predecessor's clunk. Definitely give this game a go if you've liked the RE remakes so far, otherwise if you haven't played 2/3 remake, give them a play first for cohesiveness. You won't regret it.

The original Resident Evil 4 has always been one of my favorite games of all time and this remake of the classic survival horror title only stands to reinforce my opinion. Everything from the chilling atmosphere to the cheesiness of the action set pieces has been reimagined faithfully in this beautiful game thanks to the powerful and versatile RE engine. The level design is top notch and encourages you to learn the layout of each room and strategize the best way to go about disposing or evading the enemies. Combat is very satisfying. It feels really good to get a headshot critical and see their head explode or unload a shotgun on a Ganado and just see their entire body be shredded. This is probably the best looking game I've seen and it runs amazingly on PC with no hitches on my machine on close to the highest settings. I am also really glad that they fleshed out more of the characters (Luis and Krauser) and hearing the banter between Leon and Ashley brings a grin to my face. I'm kind of upset that they cut the U3 boss, but hopefully when DLC gets released we will be able to see him all his glory in HD. Overall, I would still say I like the original just a wee bit more I still think this is an otherwise perfect game.

Definitely my game of the year so far. It's hard to say it is better than the original game because it definitely doesn't replace the original, but it doesn't fail to recapture the magic that made it so special. This remake sets a new standard for remakes to come and it's hard to imagine how Capcom can catch lightning in a bottle like they did with this game, but I also think Resident Evil as a series has been on a roll since Resident Evil 7. Even if Resident Evil 3 Remake being something of a misstep, this game is a great example of the love and genius behind these remakes. If you played this and loved it too, but haven't played the original, I highly recommend giving the original game a playthrough as it's different enough to feel like a new experience but you'll still recognize those same key moments.

Absolutely fantastic game, and an excellent remake. It manages to keep the vibes of the original while turning it into a fresh and modern experience. A great opportunity to open the franchise for a new audience.

A faithful remake of the original The graffics are fantastic and the overall gameplay is improved They even managed to make Ashley less annoying (though i miss putting her in a bin for the sake of memes) There are a few new weapons that are fun to use But a few has been removed or replaced (i personally prefered the minelauncher over the crossbow) But all in all a solid 9/10 would buy again for a friend

Resident Evil 4 Remake is a great faithful game to the original with plenty of improvements. There's so many moments for new and old players to enjoy with tons of nods and references to the history of the game and franchise throughout the years, ranging from the quips of the original, to references to glitches that speedrunners used back in the day. There are a few rooms and sequences missing from the original that some fans will miss including bosses that didn't appear. Maybe the future DLC for Separate Ways will flesh that out but as of now, they're missing.
